Hahaha I love how unhinged all the side plots in spyverse have gotten because now I’m making up dragon courtship on the fly and we’re all invested 😌 Labhair and Aotrom… whew, people are not ready for the light Ridoc POV sheds hehehe Ivan and Ridoc’s official ship name is Ridan (on account of it sounds like riding I believe—this was settled in the comments by @thefinalehope and @hannah-schooler 💜) and they are sooooo important to me! This whole subplot gives me so much joy!
I am also yearning for part II 🥹 I am so excited to show everybody all the silly little brainworms I have + how this version of the story handles IF events!
I have no idea about the end-end tbh! I guess it depends on what RY does with the series. I’ve said previously that I probably wouldn’t write a very hypothetical Part III until she released Book 4, and that’s because I like borrowing from canon still on occasion. But if stuff is revealed/resolved in ways that contradict or don’t align with what I have in mind for the spyverse story, I’ll just *waves hand* figure it out, I guess! But all of that is so far out because I don’t even know how I’m going to handle the part II ending yet let alone all of spyverse
Here are some vague spoilers for funsies! Some that I have mentioned before, and some I haven’t.
There will be multiple flashbacks to things that happened in Aretia during those final chapters (plus current chapters from a very highly requested POV or two iykyk)
At least one character who would not be introduced until OS will have a much earlier appearance in the spyverse (someone ends up not very happy about it)
The secrets that Iron Squad shares for RSC are all very different, and I have this scene half-written already (it’s going to be one of my favorites)
At least one more surprise ship perhaps? 🤭
A couple of the professors will play a bigger role, and so will the Healer’s Quadrant! And Mira! Without the main conflict of Violet wondering who she can trust, there is really room for so many shenanigans.
