I can't be the only one who thinks about how scared Tom was of being sent to an asylum. His first reaction to Dumbledore was just pure fear. What did this orphanage do to him? My poor baby was eleven 😢

I know you all obsess how Mads Mikkelsen has played Hannibal as well as Grindelwald, but I fear the Grindeldore community is SEVERELY looking over Jude Law's resume. Like, he's played Dumbledore, but he's been consistently playing queer characters since 1997. This is literally the dream team for a well played lgbt romance 😭
You know what annoys me the most guys. Whenever someone writes Tom as pure evil OR some misunderstood guy. Like the guy was actually horrendously evil. But there's more to him than evil. He's not misunderstood. He simply has a story that I feel adds context to his character.
I need more fics where canon Grindeldore (they still hate each other and fight in the war) adopt Tom. It's such a fun dynamic and they're always the funniest fics too
Fun fact: Tom canonically liked drawing. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
You know, sometimes Tombraxas haunts me. Like... imagine devoting so much time and money into this half-blood. I swear at least 2 people had to think they were dating. Just... UGH, bro, they kill me inside. I love the thought that everyone knew those two were kissing in a corner but just weren't saying anything.
I love all the tomarry tropes, but I feel like I've noticed that there are only really two main dynamics for them that people write. It's the difference of who's "leading" the relationship.
Like when Tom is clearly in charge (manipulating Harry, a professor, or just the majority of Voldemort fics), he's portrayed as cold and calculated. He isn't irrational at all and is in constant control of Harry's mind. Meanwhile, Harry is more a victim of the relationship. He's usually unaware and innocent to a certain degree.
Yet, when Harry has the upper hand (the time travel fics pr when he's the older one), Tom tends to be a mess. Like he can't figure out Harry and tends to lean into pathetic. Harry, meanwhile, is made almost macho.
The one commonality, of course, is that Tom is an obsessive freak in both.
