Surprised how flat this cherry is after I resawed it into three sheets. I forgot to cut it to length first so I have some extra. Usually I end up with all sorts of cupping. Does anyone else forget that they have the perfect tool for the job? I’ve been struggling with my 5" sander and this straight garbage Gator 80 grit sandpaper, and completely forgot I’ve had this giant 6" Ridgid ROS sander for several years. It’s excessive for most of what I sand so I never use it. Now I’m thinking back to those end grain cutting boards I was working on last winter. Damnit.

Dear Diary, My jointer and I had our first big argument today. It all started as I was stacking boards next to the infeed table. Suddenly, the jointer yelled, "SOFTWOOD AGAIN?!! That's all you ever give me! I'm sick and tired of redwood, pine, cedar and Douglas fir! Why can't I have some oak, walnut or maple like the other jointers?!" I was so hurt and angry that I couldn't even respond, so I just pulled the plug and walked away.
