Astrid gasped as two strong arms wrapped around her from behind, the custom gauntlets giving him away. "Well hello to you too." Leaning back in his arms she dropped what she was doing to rest her head on his chest. "And to what do I owe this pleasure huh? Aren't you normally flying at this time of morning?"

Astrid sat on a bench in the main square with a perfect view of the forge. She always told Hiccup it was because it caught the morning sun and that Stormfly liked sitting there to enjoy the warmth but really it was so she could watch him work. Today he was flustered, flailing about in the forge, trying to get everything done at once and managing to panic himself in the process. It probably didn't help that it was Stoick's birthday tomorrow and Hiccup still hadn't thought of a gift to give the man who quite literally had everything.

 Shaking her head the blonde slipped into the forge, catching him on his way to grab a pile of weapons that needed mending. Fingers curled around the shoulder straps of his apron tugging him down into a kiss. "Still thinking about everything else?" She asked coyly, earning a shake from the boy's head. He was a genius but sometimes he needed to learn to stop thinking. "Good, feeling any better?" And suddenly his face lit up, he knew exactly what to make his father. She couldn't help the laughter as he raced off to his desk to start drawing, only remembering she was there when he was searching for his charcoal. Embarrassed, he darted back to her side, kissing her cheek with a soft 'thank you' before running back to his desk.Yeah, he had a habit of forgetting her when he was caught up in his creative zone but he'd make it up to her later. She could have chosen any viking on Berk, but there was only one who could both show her the stars and make her feel like one, so she could handle him being a little scatterbrained.
