There’s not a single scene of Khushi where Sanaya slips as an actor. I may not like some plots - but then I’m ranting to Khushi. Never Sanaya. When I look onscreen, it’s always Khushi.
And I think that’s fabulous and what makes her stand out from the insanely talented cast. Also you know I paraphrased this cause there’s no way she’s using so many words to state the above.

Hello! As you might’ve seen a time or two by now, I’m Ridz. You can also call me R. My introduction to the show that stole many hearts was a random Youtube recommendation of either the Diwali scene or the one where he drops her out of the window, I can’t quite remember. But it pulled me in hook, line and sinker.
This was also the show that pushed me to write, not because it was inspirational, amazing or the chemistry between the leads made me feel like I was permanently living in the Manwa Laage music video. No, it was because the writers pissed me off so much that I had no option but to sit down (30 minutes before a final exam) and write a haphazard version of how I’d have rather seen it go.
The show and I took a mutual break for about 4 years, but here I am, 8 years after I saw that first scene, because Mujhe Farak Padta Hain Dammit!
PS: I am also very obsessively in love with Hockey. You can find more of that version of me here.
Sangeet was over, and Arnav chose to drop Khushi home. In their quiet, long ride back to Gupta house, Arnav Singh Raizada came to a conclusion.
Driving with Khushi Kumari Gupta (Singh Raizada - she was his wife, despite all the fifteen years’ worth reeti riwaz’s left) as a passenger was the most difficult thing in his life.
Especially when she had let her hair down, hummed quietly to ‘mujhse shaadi karogi’ and chose to plant a kiss every now and then to thank him for his ‘fantastic’ proposal.
Well... the less said about it the better. Actually attempting pelvic thrusts with a towel in between his legs was the most difficult thing in his world.
Which was strongly contested by resisting the urge to sleep over at the Gupta’s. One good memory of Bua ji’s belan brought Arnav back to reality.
As well as Khushi’s sudden “Golgappe!”
Khushi clutched his arm and pleaded for a plate. With those eyes he’d give her the world. Planting another kiss on his cheek - five in one day! - Khushi merrily chomped one gol gappa after the other, describing each flavor and ingredient to him in detail.
“Today I am really happy!” She said, her cheeks round with gol gappa.
“Acha, why?” Arnav indulged her, wiping her tears from the spice with his kerchief. He couldn’t help but grimace when she grabbed it and blowed her nose in it.
“WHY?! Arnav ji, today my dream was fulfilled! You - Arnav Singh Raizada - PROPOSED to me! Do you know I have wanted that for years.” She admonished him, stuffing another golgappa.
"Khushi... we’ve known each other a little above a year.” Arnav, gently, pointed out.
“Uff!” Khushi dismissed his logic like a tissue in the bin. Thanking all the vendors, Devi Maiyya and the kulfi she was currently having, Khushi linked her arm with his and walked to their SUV.
“But believe me when I say, today is the happiest day of my life.” Arnav watched her, amazed as she alternated between eating the melting ice cream and expressing her joy.
Did he really make her that happy?
“-I want nothing else from this world and, hey Devi Maiya!” Khushi shrieked as a sudden outpour of rain began. She grabbed his arm and ran to the car, except she was yanked back to her spot.
“Arnav ji, it’s rain-” Her words died as Arnav went down on his knee.
“Will you marry me Khushi?” He asked.
Khushi burst into a laughter, and held his hands.
“Arnav ji! Do you know we’d break the record for being the most married couple on this planet-”
“Khushi I love you.” Khushi faltered on her spot. Despite all their infinite conversations and shy kisses, she always lost a heartbeat on his confession. But why now?
“Because I want it to happen without any witness, any shor sharabba, and because...” She deserved a proposal of her dreams. When she didn’t expect it. Like how it is in her favorite stories.
Khushi understood it all, without a word being said.
“I cannot promise anything much. You know, I don’t speak much. I will never dance to Salman Khan again-” At this Khushi laughed despite the tears in her eyes.
“-and I genuinely don’t care about any reeti riwaaz because all that matters is you’re with me.” He answered, a small, watery smile on his lips. Khushi kneeled on the road, and brushed his wet hair back.
“So Miss Gupta, will you-” Khushi hugged him, and cried into his shoulder.
“Hamesha Arnav ji, hamesha.” She sniffled. Arnav cradled her head, still thankful that she chose to marry him.
And Khushi had finally gotten the proposal she ever hoped for. In silence, in rain, in the arms of the man she loved.
