15!
15. funniest scene?
Obviously, it has to be one from Sleeper. That episode is a goldmine. Ugghhh, this is hard but when I rewatched this show chronologically for the first time in forever (several months ago) and I got to Sleeper, I had totally forgot about Ianto pretending to be electrocuted and burst out laughing when I saw it. That whole scene is great.
Thanks for sending this!!!

Book Blurb:
Fourth Wing meets The Hunger Games crossed with X-Men in this slow burn, found family romantasy from breakthrough Booktok sensations Bree Grenwich and Parker Lennox, as a woman with unique powers navigates a city of prejudice and confronts her feelings for a mysterious general. DELUXE LIMITED EDITON with stenciled edges, interior character art, and designed inside covers!
He was striking in a cold-blooded kind of way, like his beauty was tinged with poison. Unassuming, alluring even.
I brought my eyes up to meet his.
"Fia Riftborne?" The words dripped from his lips like blood from a dagger.
20 years after a rebellion branded her an outcast, Fia Riftborne navigates a city rife with prejudice so deep, it's often deadly. But she harbors a secret, one that would paint an even larger target on her back. A hidden power within her is growing, threatening to destroy everything she's built for herself.
Enter the elusive Sidhe General, Laryk Ashford, who is building a unit of powerful wielders within the Guard to face a growing threat. Wraiths of darkness devour the Western border, leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake.
When Fia's power erupts, and two daughters of Nobility are seemingly dead, General Ashford offers her a chilling choice: join the Sidhe Guard or face execution.
Because Fia might be the only hope for the Isle's survival.
Torn between surrendering to the chaos or becoming a weapon for those who took everything from her, Fia must confront her growing feelings for the General and face a dark truth that could shatter everything she's ever known.
Riftborne was written for readers that love a well-developed enemies-to-lovers arc and strong female friendships. The magic system is heavily inspired by X-men— if it took place in the city of Silverymoon from the Forgotten Realms. Laryk Ashford is the Charles Xavior to Fia’s Dark Phoenix.
Review:
She knows she can't trust him yet he's the only person who can help her control her powers... but can she control her feelings for the one person who could seal her fate? Magical powers, unlikely romance, and a world filled with secrets and powers?! This is the perfect book for you if you love Vampire Academy, X-Men, and Fourth Wing!
The story follows Fia Riftborne, a young woman who lives in a city that is prejudiced against anyone who is a Riftborne. In a city filled with individuals with magical gifts, Fia's is uncontrollable and deadly, it's getting worse by the day. Fia's only goal is to get by, lay low, and provide for her mother. Yet an encounter at a ball leaves two people near death and the person to witness her outburst? The very general of the land that could have her killed, Laryk Ashford. Laryk offers Fia a proposition: she joins his faction of the army and he'll teach her how to not only control her abilities but keep quite about the incident, and if she doesn't he'll have her executed. There is nothing Fia wants less than to join Faction Venom, she knows she'll be hated by all of them in there simply for being a Riftborne... but it's her only option if she wants to survive. Yet the more she trains with Laryk the closer they become and soon the line between trainer and trainee begins to blur. Fia knows he should be off limits but Laryk keeps surprising her. But as she grows closer to learning her abilities deadlier creatures known as Wraiths begin to close in on the land and she'll need to face the truth of her abilities if she wants to survive.
A fantastic first book in a trilogy that captures the feelings of a 2000s fantasy romance series!! It felt like a fun mash up of Vampire Academy, X-men, and Fourth Wing altogether and I can't wait to read the next book!! The cliffhanger on this one has me so curious about what is going to happen next!

*Thanks Kensington for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*
I don’t understand the hype with riftborne and dust bound. Getting through book one was painful. Book 2? 12 chapters in and I’ve left it there…I was trying to read it so I could read the ascended but if this is the writing I have to look forward too? I don’t think I can do it.
Does it get better ?
Is it just me or is my riftborne copy… pink?
✨Fia Riftborne✨
“I was the living embodiment of death. Cheekbones too high, chin too sharp, and forehead stretching a tad too long—jarring was an appropriate descriptor already. Add in the white curls, unnaturally pale skin, and perpetually shrouded eyes, and we’re verging on full-blown ghoul.”
Duskbound comes out Tuesday! Find out what’s going on with Fia’s eyes 👀…
I was very fortunate to have been an ARC reader for Duskbound. I loved Riftborne and reached out for the opportunity to ARC read. I cannot stop thinking about this book. It hasn’t even released yet and I can’t wait for book 3. Go support indie authors and read an amazing series!
Character belongs to Parker Lennox and Bree Grenwich
✨Fia Riftborne✨
The FMC from the Esprithean Trilogy (Riftborne, Duskbound, and book 3 is not yet named). Duskbound comes out next week and I was fortunate to have been an ARC reader. I do plan on making more art for this trilogy so go read up so you can follow along. 😉
