“Sorry...I just had the strangest dream...”

Ianto frowned faintly, before rubbing his eyes with the heel of his hand. It really had been the most bizarre of dreams, closer to a nightmare really, and he had no idea what had spurred it on. As it was, he had a crick in his neck and he winced as he rubbed it. Served him right for falling asleep at his desk, but paperwork never ended.

The Doctor was very confused.  “What are you talking about?” he asked, “Do I know you?”

“I think about my sister, Lup, and my boyfriend. And occasionally the two chucklefucks I do my adventuring with. Honestly, that’s more than enough for me.”

Ruby held the plate in her hand, staring down at the other. “Did you order this or do i have to take it back to the kitchen?” With a smile plastered on her face and her hand on her hip she placed the plate down in front of them. 

Twirling her hair between her fingers, Ruby waited for the response of the other. “and Granny is watching me, so i do need to be quick today.”

“And just why was I mentioned at your school?” Alice asked curiously, she wasn’t one to share her secrets lightly so how had they known?

“You’ve got two choices. One, keep bothering me and risk me making a mistake that could cost this city. Or two, leave me alone and let me get on with my work trying to realign the nuclear pulse control circuits and stabilize the computer core.”      Normally, she wasn’t this cold to others, but she really was trying not to cause the buried ship’s core to explode and that required her full attention. She couldn’t afford a mistake.

  “It’s not just a kiss.” lips press together in slight upset. Things like this were never something that would go well in the Hub. All flings that began here with mutual trauma never ended well. The few who did last were gone now, taken so early that it wouldn’t have mattered what the other person did in their spar time. He had gone through that. Jack had such wonderful years with Ianto and he wasn’t sure he could be with anyone else. He had been too important, a shining beacon that brought the captain into the light and helped change him for the better. “We don’t just kiss, I don’t do that. I can’t do that.”
