Ah, yes, his motto since he was young.  Riley had always been a ‘here for a good time, not a long time’ sort of lad, and that had only mildly simmered down with age.  He’d only had a few sobering instances in his life...figuratively speaking.  Thinking about it now, the rainy weather outside matched his own distracted melancholy.  With a sigh, Riley set down the now clean beer glass back behind the bar.

“ Long story short, don’t befriend a dragon, “ he finished.  He grinned at the customer across from him.  “ Especially dragon captains.  They tend to leave you with nothing more than...well, burns.  Care for a refill, love?  Or maybe more fried mushrooms? “

Pinker than an Indian River grapefruit?" she's quiet for a moment, gives the chain of her cuffs a rattle when she pulls on it --- still pretty solidly locked to the metal leg of her diner stool. Faith could bend it, if she felt like it. Break the chain, beat his ass raw. Being a shitty charge is a lot less likely to hurt someone, "Know I'm forgettin' one... dude, come on. At least uncuff one hand so I can eat my damn breakfast. What the hell do you think I'm gonna do with one hand?"

He pauses, his hand an inch away from his mouth, already having taken a bite. “What- is this evidence?” Wade questions, his brows shooting up. “Don’t. tell. me. this is fucking evidence.”

50. High five

mike eyes the chief’s outstretched hand, all of his fat fingers inviting him into a high five. a high five, of all the goddamn things this man could think of. not a pat on the back and good job, kid. no. a high five.

okay, mike can do this. he can humor hopper for once… for el. as dumb as the gesture is, she would actually be thrilled that they bonded in any way, shape, or form. so, mike will do it. he’ll give the fat bastard a high five if he absolutely has to.

lifting his own slender hand that’s pale in comparison to hopper’s beefy, red tinted hand, he quickly, and very briefly, he collides his palm against the chief’s and even manages to force a smile.

“ nice, ” he mutters, not even sure what else to say to this now that he’s thoroughly uncomfortable from the entire interaction.

Where am I?

It was cold and...dark. Kaine’s head ached and body felt like hell. That’s right. God damn hunters. They clocked him good when he had not been at his best. Perhaps he underestimated the newer brand of hunters these days. Clever. That is not what is important right now. What is, if he could wrap his head around what he is stuck in, iis getting out of this predicament. He grunted, no good. Restrained with shackles that draw a sharp inhale from him. The prongs along the inside of said shackles irritate and discourage him from trying anything.

He grunted and shifted until he was sitting up on his knees.... but who is that on the other side of the cell? He squinted his amber eyes, catching the outline of the fellow prisoner...

“ Y’ look lost. ”  And dehydrated, and . . . well, like shit. He looks like shit. Can’t blame him, it’s what the desert does to you. Courier can’t judge it though, since she doesn’t really look all that much better.
