8:15. Clock out time.
It felt like the longest day. Multiple couples coming in looking for puppies, very few actually going through with the adoption process. A few of them actually realizing how much work a dog was going to be when you revealed the expenses and asked about their living arrangements. You had just finished locking up the cash register and collecting your things from the locker in the back room. You checked the lights one more time, muttering a quiet goodbye to the dogs as you moved to the front of the shop to head home for the night.
BANG BANG BANG
Your heart thudded in your chest as you peered out the front window, noticing in the faint light a man standing on the other side of the door, scruffy hair and sunglasses covering his eyes. You paused for a second before moving to the door, dropping your things onto the desk and unlocking the door. “We’re closed.” you called through the door. The man’s head popped up.
“Sorry Ma’am, Martin Riggs, LAPD. It alright if I come inside?” Seeing the shiny badge attached to his belt, you let out a breath and unlocked the door allowing the detective to slip inside into the warmth.
“What can I do for you, detective?” Your eyes scanned over the man, his cowboy boots scuffing against the concrete flooring of the reception area. His arms were wrapped around something, curled in a blanket. A fluffy pair of ears rested against his arm, sad-looking eyes stared up at you.
“We err just finished a case,” Riggs explained. “Found this guy on the call. Was locked up in some cage. Figured you might be able to help?” You looked closely at the man, his Texan drawl thick but easy to understand. You reached over and placed your hand on the dog’s head, stroking gently, a soft whimpering coming from it.
“Poor baby,” you muttered. You gestured for Riggs to bring the dog over to the back room and flicked on the light. The dog whimpered as Riggs placed him down, it was then you noticed the red smudges on Riggs’ hands and neck.
“You okay?” you asked, eyes secretly looking for any injuries. Riggs nodded but didn’t answer.
“Look, is he gonna be okay?” You examined the dog. Nothing broken, malnourished and a little cold.
“Was he kept outside?” Riggs nodded. “He needs a good feed and some warming up, but he should be alright.” You reached into one of the cabinets and pulled out a blanket with a wire attached. “This should do it.” You plugged it in and laid it across the dog who seemed to settle into the comfort that the heated blanket was giving him. “I’ll start him on a diet in the morning. I’ll slowly feed him until his stomach can tolerate a full meal.” The dog’s eyes closed as his chest rose and fell calmly. “Now you, sit down,” Riggs looked at you, eyebrows furrowed, arms crossed over his chest.
“What? No, I’m fine. This is nothing-”
“Sit your cowboy ass down and stop bleeding on my floor,” You replied sternly pointing to the chair in the corner of the room. He glanced down at the drips of blood that had fallen from his arm and pooled on the floor. Riggs paused for a moment and his mouth began to open. You could tell that he was thinking of arguing with you some more, but the stern glare you sent in his direction stopped the words from spilling out. “Now, where’s the blood coming from?” His mouth opened, eyebrows pushed up towards his forehead. “And don’t you dare tell me you’re fine, stubbornness gets you killed in your line of work.” He closed his mouth and sighed.
“Yes ma’am.” he muttered. “It’s just a scratch, no biggie,” You crossed your arms and waited for him to answer properly. With a sigh, he reluctantly pulled the side of his shirt down to show a graze on his shoulder.
“That from a bullet?” you asked, collecting supplies from the cupboards.
“Yeah, guy jumped out from the kitchen when we got inside,” Riggs explained. “Doesn’t even hurt-” He hissed as you pressed a gauze to his shoulder, a clear liquid soaked into the material and now soaking into his shoulder. “Damn it!” You rose an eyebrow.
“Doesn’t hurt, huh?” He pushed his sunglasses up onto his forehead and glared gently at you with whiskey coloured eyes. “Seems superficial. I’ll wrap it up for you.” You muttered. “For someone who was shot at, you seem awfully chilled out.”
“Well, ma’am, I have to say, you seem pretty chilled out for someone dealing with a bullet wound in the back of an animal shelter like some backwater doctor’s surgery.”
“I grew up babysitting the neighbourhood kids, I learned a thing or two.” You grinned and wiped away the stream of blood that had covered his shoulder. You grabbed the antibacterial wipes and wiped the area once more before removing the backing off of a large bandaid. “There you go, detective. All wrapped up and good to go.” You pulled the gloves off your hand and dropped them into the waste bin. “Try not to go running into any more gunfire, okay?” You smiled and his lips pulled up at the side as he nodded.
“Yes ma’am. You’ve got my word.” You stepped around the table back to where the dog was laying, his head still resting and his body warming up under the blanket. You checked his temperature again and grinned.
“Looks like our friend here is doing just fine,” You stroked his head softly. “He needs a name, though. Don’t you think, detective?”
“How about Rocky?” Riggs suggested, coming to stand on the opposite side of the table. You smiled. “I got a thing for old movies.”
“I guess he does look like he’s gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson,” You giggled. “Rocky it is.”
Carefully lifting Rocky, you led Riggs into the back of the kennels. Most of the dogs had settled in their beds now, but you could see a few heads raised at your entrance. They were probably confused that you were still here.
“Just in here,” you instructed. Thankfully you had a couple of empty kennels right in the back. Rocky laid down comfortably on the bed in the corner, watching you as you placed down a bowl and filled it with water from the tap. “Sweet dreams Rocky. I’ll be back in the morning.” You closed the door behind you and walked back out to the front with Riggs, grabbing your things as you moved through the front of the shelter. “Thank you for your help detective,” You smiled. “I’m used to carrying dogs around but it’s nice to have some help now and again.” You stopped to turn off the lights again. “How’s that shoulder feeling?” The concern seeped into your voice.
“Good as new, doc.” He grinned. “All thanks to your delicate handiwork. Does this make me one of your official patients now?” he asked.
“The first human one,” You smirked. “Although I guess you do have that cute mutt thing going on for you.”
“Mutt? You think I look like a mutt?” he asked feigning hurt and pressing his hand to his heart.
“A cute mutt,” You giggled. “Guess that charm comes from all you Texans.” Riggs raised a hand to push his hair from his face, only for it to fall back against his cheek.
“You mind if I walk you to your car?” he asked, looking out the front of the shelter. The darkened orange sky had now disappeared into blackness. The stars littering across the sky providing minimal illumination. The closest street lamp was down the road on the corner. “Saying that, I didn’t remember seeing a car out there.”
“Oh no, I walk,” you explained. “I usually stop by the pizza joint on my way home from work. But tonight,” You glanced at the watch on your wrist. “I won’t be since the place closes at eight forty-five and it’s now nine-ten.”
“You walk? How far do you live from here?”
“Just a couple of blocks,” you replied, pretending not to see the concerned look on Riggs’ face. You’d been walking home for years since you’d started working at the animal shelter. Nothing had ever happened, nothing to scare you into driving. Most of the businesses close by, knew your schedule and often looked out when you passed by whilst they were closing up. You felt safe on this side of town. “It’s really okay, detective. It’s not that far.”
“At least let me give you a ride,” he replied. “As an apology for keeping you so late,” You paused. “Straight home. Scouts honor,” You giggled. “I’ll even drop you down the road if you don’t wanna give me your address. Which I understand, being a cop and all.”
“Alright detective,” You nodded, stepping outside and locking the door behind you. “Answer me one question and you’ve got yourself a deal.”
“I’m an open book.” He grinned.
“Were you even allowed in the scouts?” His chuckle echoed around the quiet parking lot, shaking his head as he walked with you to his truck.

‘Riggs.’ You said, and he whipped around to you. Your hand pressed to the left of your stomach the crimson red staining your blouse. You gun feel the ground as you looked up at him, feeling light headed already. Within a second he was guiding you down onto the ground, pressing his hands onto your wound, as you gasped lightly.
‘Stay with me. I need to see those pretty eyes.’ He commented, you smiled weakly as you blinked struggling to keep them open, until you felt a warm hand against your cold cheek.
‘Talk to me.’ Riggs commanded as he looked at you worriedly, you heard the sound of faint sirens approaching.
‘Murtaugh.’ He said. You managed to raise an eyebrow and he chuckled.
‘He’s stuck up sometimes, but mostly for the best.’ You whispered. Riggs nodded in agreeance.
‘Why is it so cold?’ You questioned, Riggs looked at you face, which had paled and his heart broke.
‘It’s just gotten chilly, that’s all.’ He replied, swallowing thickly, the ambulance coming to a stop outside.
‘Hey Y/N?’ He said, you hummed.
‘I love you. Okay, I should have told you earlier but I’m a wuss and now I’m telling you when your bleeding out.’ He stated, he looked up and noticed you had stopped breathing.
‘Quick, she’s not breathing.’ He shouted at the paramedics as they arrived at the door way. They dropped their equipment before getting to work.
‘Sir, I need you to move.’ One said but he didn’t acknowledge them.
‘Come on man.’ Murtaugh said as he gently took his shoulders. Riggs stood up but continued watching you.
‘We need to get her to the hospital, or she doesn’t have a chance.’ the older on said, as they moved her onto the bed.
‘We’ll give you a police escort.’ Murtaugh said as they followed them out. Riggs going into Murtaugh’s car silently.
-
He watched as the clear water ran over his hands and turned a faint red, before disappearing down the drain. Once all the blood was gone he looked up at the mirror, his hands resting on the edge of the sink. He continued staring at his reflection before he screamed out and punched the glass, it breaks into pieces everywhere. The door swung open and Murtaugh ran in.
‘Riggs?’ He questioned, never having seen Riggs this broken.
‘I mucked up. I always muck up.’ He sobbed as he slides down the wall and ran his non-cut hand through his hair.
‘Don’t say that.’
‘I told her I loved her and she’s in there with a hole in her side.’ He exclaimed, Murtaugh grabbed some of the toilet roll before placing it on Riggs hand, to stop the bleeding.
‘She’ll be fine. She’s fighter.’ Murtaugh told him.
-
‘How is she?’ Murtaugh questioned.
‘Awake but drowsy.’ The doctor said, and everyone was watching him.
‘The bullet missed all the major organs, luckily. She’ll be in here for a week before there’s even a discussion of her getting home. Then with her job maybe a three to four months before she can go back out into the field again.’ The doctor informed the small group that had gathered.
‘Can we see her?’ Murtaugh questioned, the doctor shook his head.
‘No, sorry. She only wants to see Riggs.’ He said, and Riggs looked up.
‘What?’ He questioned.
‘She’s refusing painkillers unless you go in and talk to her.’ The doctor explained.
‘So please go, but only you, so she can take the meds.’ The doctor said, and Riggs was out his seat and slowly walking towards your room. He opened the door and smiled when he saw you, watching him.
‘I heard you’re refusing meds.’ Riggs said as the door closed behind him. he took you in paler than you normally were and, but you were better than when he last saw you.
‘What happened to your hand?’ You asked him as you took in his appearance.
‘I had a disagreement with a mirror.’ He said, as he took the bandaged hand into his back pocket.
‘Why aren’t you taking the meds?’ He asked you again.
‘I need to be clear headed when I say this.’ You told him.
‘I heard what you said before I blacked out.’ You explained.
‘It was only to get you to stay awake.’ He said, brushing it off.
‘Okay, sure. Well then I’ll just have to tell someone else then that I love them as well.’ You said as you tried to get comfy in the bed. He hesitated before he walked over and captured your lips with his, you winched slightly but stopped when Riggs deepened the kiss. You both smiled as you pulled away.

As you got out your car, you walked around to the back, opening the door and bringing out a case of beer. Closing the doors and locking it you balanced the beer on your hip as you walked down the beach, kicking your shoes off. You picked them up and carried them in your spare hands as you spotted the group. As you walked along Murtaugh spotted you, pulling away from Trisha to raise his hands.
‘Y/N!’ He said, you noticed the beer in his hands, knowing he was slightly tipsy. You chuckled and placed the beer onto the sand.
‘I come bearing beer.’ You said and they all gave a small cheer. You turned around and noticed the only spare seat was next to Riggs on a colourful towel, that looked like it was Riana’s. You grabbed two beers before heading over and sat next to him, your shoulders brushing with his slightly.
‘You okay?’ Riggs asked as he looked down at you.
‘Just getting cold.’ You said, as you looked at RJ and Murtaugh talking heatedly about something. he looked at you before he wrapped an arm around your shoulders bringing you closer to him. You mumbled thanks as you tucked your arm behind his back, and under the shirt, to keep your arm warm. You looked up when Riana appeared in front of you holding another beer.
‘Thanks.’ You said as you reached up and took it from her.
‘You’re welcome.’ She replied, looking between you and Riggs.
‘I’m gonna take them back now, other wise they’ll all be cranky in the morning.’ She said, you and Riggs chuckled and agreed.
‘Here let me help.’ You said as you placed the beer bottle down in the sand.
‘No, it’s fine.’ She tried to stop you, but you shook your head.
‘No, it’s no problem. We’ll both help.’ Riggs said, as he stood up offering you a hand, you took it and he pulled you up. You placed your arms in the sleeves of his flannel and made you way over to Murtaugh, as Trish and RJ were already making their way to the car.
‘Come on old man.’ You said, as you offered your arm to Murtaugh who took it and got up. You wrapped your arm around his shoulder and Riggs done the same on the other side.
‘Riggs?’ Murtaugh asked.
‘Yeah, Rog?’ Riggs answered.
‘Have you asked her out yet?’ He asked, you glanced at Riggs with a raised eyebrow and he shook his head.
‘Who’s he to ask out Roger?’ You questioned.
‘Y/N, he’s been in love with her for a while now.’ He mumbled but you heard him perfectly fine, you looked at Riggs who was refusing to look at you.
Once you were at the car, you let go of Roger allowing Riggs to put him in the car and you walked around the Riana and she rolled down the window.
‘Be careful driving home.’ You warned her, she nodded and as you were about to walk away her hand reached out and took a hold of your wrist.
‘What dad said, it’s true.’ She whispered, you glanced at Riggs to see him struggle with Roger.
‘And I know you like him as well.’ She stated as you looked back at her. She let go of your hand and smiled slightly at you which you returned before you said bye to RJ and Trish and walking back down to the beach.
‘Been in love with me for a while?’ You asked as you heard him come up behind you.
‘So you heard him?’ Riggs said, you nodded your head.
‘It was hard not to.’ You said as you turned to face him.
‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ You questioned him, he looked down to his feet, kicking some sand about.
‘I was scared.’ He told you honestly.
‘The almighty Riggs was scared of telling me you loved me?’ You teased him.
‘Well, what would he say if I was to recuperate the feelings?’ You said, and he looked at you, a small smirk appearing.
‘Well, first he would tell you how cute you look in his shirt and second he’d do this.’ He said before reaching forward and grabbing the flannel pulling you closer to him. He placed a hand on you hip bringing you closer and the other on your jaw as he lowered his lips and connected them with yours. Both your hands went to his neck, pulling him closer until you both reluctantly pulled apart for some air.
‘We’ll have to thank Roger in the morning.’ You said out of breath, he chuckled.
‘Yeah, or we can’ t.’ He suggested.
‘Why?’ You asked.
‘Everyone may have a bet on us? And he might have just one.’ He told you. You pulled back more.
‘They have a bet on us?’ You asked, and he nodded.
‘Who’s lost?’ You questioned.
‘Bailey, she thought I’d do it last month at the charity ball.’ He told you, you smiled.
‘What did Roger bet?’ You asked him next.
‘That I would do it tonight.’ He informed you.
‘How? The fire was planned last minute- or did they all plan this?’ You asked him, he bit his lip before rubbing the back of his neck.
‘They might have planned this.’ He said truthfully.

‘I can dodge today, they’ll understand.’ He said, his lips against your stomach, the baby kicked, and he smiled, pressing a kiss onto the spot. it was your due date today and he was more nervous than you were.
‘You could… but you’re not going to. We’ll be fine.’ You said as you brushed his curls. He pressed another kiss to your belly before he stood up.
‘Are you sure?’ He asked you, his hands resting on your neck, his thumbs subconsciously stroking it.
‘Yes.’ You told him, he leaned forward and giving you a kiss, before pulling back.
‘Are you sure, your sure?’ He questioned, you smiled and nodded.
‘I’ll see you tonight hen you come home.’ You told him, pressing another kiss to his lips.
‘Riggs?’ Murtaugh said, Riggs looked up.
‘You need to get to the hospital.’ Murtaugh said, Riggs stood up so fast that the world was spinning.
‘What’s happened?’ He questioned, looking at Murtaugh who was putting his phone away into his pocket.
‘Your baby is on the way.’ He said smiling, Riggs let out the breath he didn’t know he was holding before he grabbed his jacket.
‘Good luck.’ Bailey shouted, the group watching as he ran off with a smile.
‘Thank you.’ He shouted back as he got into the elevator.
‘I’m here for Y/N Riggs?’ He said as the front desk, breathing heavily. The nurse smiled.
‘Mr Rigs, she came in half an hour ago, she’s only a quarter of the way dilated so you have a few more hours to wait yet.’ She explained, as she leads him down the hallway.
‘Your wife is good health and so it the baby.’ She continued to tell him. they took a left at the end of the corridor before she opens the door on the right. When he entered you were sitting with your back to him taking deep breaths.
‘Thank you.’ He said to the nurse, she smiled and left the two of you alone. He walked over to you and placed a hand on your lower back, rubbing it soothingly. You leaned back slightly and let out a low groan.
‘I shouldn’t have went to work.’ He told you as he pressed a kiss on your cheek.
‘Why?’ You questioned him, he motioned to you smiled slightly.
‘You’re here, aren’t you?’ You questioned him, he nodded as he took a seat next to you, and you leaned into him.
‘You done it baby, you done it.’ He said, breathlessly. A shit eating grin taking over his face, he knew his checks were gonna be sore at the end of the day. The door opened, and a nurse walked in holding files.
‘So have you decided on a name?’ She asked the two of you, Riggs looked down at you.
‘Caroline Riggs?’ You asked him, he looked at her before nodding.
‘Caroline Riggs.’ He agreed with you, he pressed a kiss to your sweaty forehead and then pressed one to Caroline’s forehead. The nurse smiled at you as she wrote it down onto the paper.
‘You have visitors in the waiting room.’ She told you before she left, you looked at Riggs.
‘I’ll go see who it is.’ He offered, you nodded. He placed a kiss on your forehead again before walking out the door to the waiting room, to come across his friends and colleagues.
‘How is she?’ Murtaugh asked, Trisha stood next to him, Bailey and Brooks. They all waited for the news, Riggs serious face was replaced by a bright smile.
‘We have a girl.’ He said they cheered, and Murtaugh ran and gave him a hug.
When Riggs is trying to sober up, he kinda of gets a guardian angel. Key word, kind of.

‘And you’re not Riggs.’ You said as you saw a woman pulling on a jumper. She looked at you and smiled.
‘No I’m not sweetheart.’ She said smiling but then you heard five shots.
‘That would be him.’ You said, turning around leaving the van. You walked around to the back and saw Riggs standing with a gun raised, four bottles shattered on the ground.
‘Never knew you had a thing for older woman Riggs.’ You teased him, he only ran his hand out his hair.
‘I’ve lost my edge.’ He said, you raised an eyebrow.
‘So your aiming older now?’ You asked, he looked at you confused before answering you.
‘No, no I missed a shot and she’s a witness in the crime we’re been assigned to.’ He explained, you raised an eyebrow but nodded.
‘Okay, why is she in our home?’ You asked as you took the gun out of his hand, setting it down.
‘She lives in a caravan, I was searching through it when someone ran into the door, so now I have to pay for it to be fixed.’
‘Okay. So why are you shooting bottles?’ You questioned him, he looked at them before looking at you.
‘I’m stopping drinking.’ Was all he said before he took off.
‘I watch her, I mean if you don’t trust her by herself.’ You spoke up from the desk, were you were swinging your legs.
‘Only if you’re sure?’ Murtaugh asked, you looked at Mags who shrugged her shoulders.
‘Yeah. We’ll be fine.’ You told them, Murtaugh nodded and started heading out,
‘Riggs, come on.’ He said, Riggs looked at Mags before looking at you, you smiled and nodded at him before he joined Murtaugh.
‘So you and the detective?’ She asked as she sat next to you as you worked on the computer.
‘Mmm?’ You asked, looked up at her.
‘Riggs, you and him. How long have you been together?’ She questioned you, you looked at her and shook your head chuckling.
‘No, we aren’t together.’ You said turning back to your computer.
‘Oh sweetie.’ She replied softly.
‘What?’ You questioned her, she shook her head.
‘You’re so oblivious.’ She told you, you stared at her before turning back to the computer and logging off, before turning back to her.
‘How about some lunch?’ You asked her, she smiled softly and nodded.
‘Why there’s a full moon tonight isn’t there?’ You said, as you kicked his boots to the side.
‘Are you seriously skinny dipping?’ You asked him wafted he never answered you.
‘Yeah, you should join me.’ He spoke up after a couple of seconds.
‘I don’t know.’ You said, drawing patterns in the sand with your shoes.
‘Come on... it’s meant to- free yourself.’ He said, looking over his shoulder at you.
‘You’re not scared are you?’ He questioned after you didn’t move for a while.
‘Nope, used to do this all the time.’ You said as you unbuttoned your trousers, sliding them down your legs.
‘All the time?’ He questioned, you felt him watching you as you took off your shoes and top.
‘Yeah, you know. Crazy weekends, dares and drinking.’ You told him, placing your clothes next to the robe that was lying down. You stepped into the surprising warm water, you walked over to him, feeling the water raise up your legs, stopping mid-thigh.
‘Free yourself, huh?’ You asked as you stood at his side. He glanced at you.
‘Yeah, Mags said it was the best thing.’ He said, both of you looked up the stars.
‘Heard you and mags talking earlier.’ He spoke up after the silence.
‘Yeah, she’s nice.’ You told him, his hands dropped to his side and
‘You guys gonna kiss or what?’ You heard to your side. Riggs sighed, and you smiled, both of you turning to look at her.
‘Mags?’ You asked, as you saw her standing just outside her door.
‘Y/N, nice to see you again.’ She said with a smile, you nodded your head.
‘Riggs, pleasure seeing you again.’ She continued, Riggs only saluted her.
‘Don’t mind me you two, go about your business, I’m just gonna get out my dungarees.’ She said before she disappeared into her van. Riggs stepped forward grabbing your hands in his, pulling you till you were in the sand. He bent down and flung the white rob at you, you quickly wrapped it around you before he pulled on his boxers, picking up your clothes. Retaking your hand he pulled you towards his caravan.
‘Riggs I should really g-‘ You started but he cut you off as he pressed his lips against yours. You gasped as he pulled you closer with the robe. Your hands made their way up into his curls and you pulled them slightly, as you pulled away for some air. Your foreheads pressed together, breathing deeply, both your lips swollen.
‘Stay the night?’ He asked, you pulled back slightly and smiled, nodding your head.

‘Riggs?’ You asked as you saw the familiar hair, him and the person he was with turned around and looked at you.
‘Well aint a sight for sore eyes?’ He said as he welcomed you into a hug. You pulled back and patted his shoulder.
‘How do you know each other?’ A man next to Riggs asked, you looked at him and the at Riggs. Riggs seemed at ease with him, so you smiled at him.
‘We grew up together.’ You told him.
‘Together?’ He asked confused.
‘Yeah, we used to go shooting together with his dad, until-‘ You looked at Riggs and he wasn’t making any eye contact, more focussed on his shoes.
‘Until I moved away.’ You said, and he looked up, you smiled slightly at him.
‘When did you move away?’ The man asked, you looked at Riggs.
‘When we were 13?’ You asked, Riggs shook his head.
’14, cause you had just held your party.’ Riggs said, you looked up at him, shocked that he remembered.
‘Yeah, I told you I was leaving that day, and you didn’t talk to me for a week after that.’ You commented, and he smiled, pushing hair out his face.
‘What brings you here?’ He asked you, you moved your jacket out the way and showed him the badge.
‘F.B.I, damn.’ He muttered, you nodded smiling.
‘Yeah, worked had after I left.’ You said as you leaned against the desk.
‘It’s nice to meet you, but why is F.B.I here?’ Murtaugh asked. You lifted a file.
‘Were working together, you’ve been tracking someone, that we believe so they’ve sent me here to work with you guys. I just need to meet with your boss.’ You told them, they looked between each other before pointing towards the boss’s office.
‘Thanks.’ You said before walking between them and chapping on the door.
The car was filling up quickly, you tried the locks but when they didn’t do anything you tried hitting the window, but they weren’t breaking as easily as you thought they would. You quickly swam to the top of the car where there was still a small bit that wasn’t filled with water. You headed back down once you took a deep breath, hitting the window again, this time you saw a figure swimming towards you. You tried kicking the door with your feet, but when that didn’t work you saw Riggs in front of the window. You should him that the door and windows weren’t budging, he tried to hit them himself but when he realized that they weren’t moving, he swam up and looked around. He pulled out his gun, and whacked the window with it, but you were struggling to hold your breath now, there were small black dots that were appearing in your vision.
‘Come one.’ Riggs muttered to himself as he waited for a response from you. He watched you closely moving to get ready to start cpr but you took a deep breath before coughing up the water, tilting your head to the side.
‘I swear I’ve saw that in a movie before.’ You said as you rolled onto your side. You heard Riggs scoff beside you, and you moved your hair out your face.
‘Thank you.’ You said, he just nodded his head as Roger came running down.
‘You guys good?’ Murtaugh asked, you both raised a thumb up and nodded.
‘Yeah.’ You said as you sat up slowly. You winced when you felt a sharp pain in your side, you placed a hand on it as you stood up on your feet.
‘You good?’ Riggs asked, you pulled your hand away and you looked at it, covered in blood and Riggs spotted it as well.
‘You’ve been shot.’ He said, and his hand was on your side in a matter of seconds, you hissed when
‘Roger call an ambulance!’ Riggs shouted, you waved your hand at him.
‘Don’t!’ You said, you pulled away from him and started walking towards Roger.
‘What happened?’ Roger asked as you, you opened your mouth, but Riggs bet you too it.
‘She’s been shot.’
‘You’ve been shot!’ Murtagh almost shouted.
‘There’s no hole, it’s only grazed me. Some wrap and I’ll be fine.’ You said, they both looked at each other, as you walked, you turned back and looked at them.
‘Well are we going or what?’ You asked before you lowered your head and went into the back of the car.
‘You ever wanted to know what you are like? That’s you there.’ Murtaugh said, as he started walking towards his car. Riggs following behind him.
‘You always have been stubborn, you know that?’ Riggs commented as you swatted his hands away and pushed yourself out the wheelchair and into the comfy bed waiting for you.
‘everyone says that, must be out hometown.’ You told him, chuckling slightly before grasping your side and hissing.
‘You okay?’ Riggs asked you, you looked up at him and nodded. He reached into the bag and pulled out your medicine before handing it to you, standing up to fetch some water, he handed it to you as well.
‘Get some sleep, I’ll be here when you wake up.’ He told you as you swallowed the tablets and drank the water.
‘what about work?’
‘Got the next couple of days off, to look after you.’
‘I don’t need looked after.’ You told him, he turned and looked at you.
‘I know, but the other pressured me into looking after you.’ He said and you eyed him.
‘Sure.’ You said as you closed your eyes, you drifted off to Riggs rubbing your legs.
You and Riggs were on a date when a car pulled up in front of you and the doors open, you looked at Riggs before a bag was put over both your heads. As you sat in the car, you listened to your kidnappers talking.
‘How long till they find us?’ One asked the other, obviously the boss.
‘They won’t find us.’ He said, and you scoffed.
‘They will, by the speed you’re going at and the distance you’d travel before they realize we never made it to dinner, you may have just over 2 hours.’ You said, you could hear them moving in their seats.
‘Shut it.’
‘Make me.’ You said.
‘Fine.’ They said before hitting you over the head and you were out cold.
When you came to your hands were tied behind you back and the room was dimly light. When you lifted your head, you were at Riggs left hand side. You groaned slightly as a pain went through your head. Riggs turned to you and smiled.
‘Hey.’ He said, you just smiled at him and wriggled your hands. You groaned again when you looked up and saw the guards smirking at you.
‘What?’ You asked them, they quickly broke eye contact, to that you smirked. As Riggs filled you in what had happened, you took in your surroundings.
You and Riggs had been quiet for a while, the boss hadn’t been in. So, you were both waiting patiently until Riggs spoke up.
‘Marry me?’ Riggs suddenly said from beside you.
‘What?’ You asked in disbelief.
‘Marry me.’ He repeated it.
‘We’re kinda in the middle of something.’ You said back to him, you knew he was smirking.
‘Well what happens if we don’t make it out of here?’ He asked as he looked at the guards in front of you. You sighed before turning to him. He was smirking, you shook your head.
‘Okay.’ You said, he turned and face you, smiling and then went back to face the guards.
‘Excuse me?’ He said, the guards just looked at him. You watched him as he winked at you and then you knew the plan.
‘My fiancee and I would like to have a moment.’ He said proudly, the guards looked at each other.
‘Fiancee? I don’t think so.’ You said.
‘What?’ Riggs said turning to you.
‘Where my ring, I can’t get engaged without a ring.’ You said, moving your arms behind you back.
‘Well then we have a problem sweetie.’
‘No, you have a problem, can you believe he proposed without a ring?’ You said making the guards look in your direction.
‘And proposing whilst we’re kidnapped.’ You said, you suddenly turned to Riggs.
‘This better not be your idea of romantic.’ You told him, all he did was smirk.
‘Riggs, where is Roger hiding, does he have the camera. Recording all this?
’You asked, he smiled and you could see he was almost free, so were you.
‘Riggs where is he hiding?’ You asked Riggs, you then turned to the guards.
‘Roger!’ You said looking between them all.
‘Roger, come out. It’s over.’ You said, you felt your rope snap, so you knew Riggs must have as well. When you looked at him, you faked anger.
‘I’m fed up with you Riggs, for once I’d like to do something without being kidnapped.’ You sighed.
‘Well how about now?’ He suggested, you nodded and then you were both out of the chairs, knocking a guard down each and grabbing their guns. When they started shooting, you hid behind the guard and they shot him instead. You raised your gun and shot down two guards whilst Riggs done the other two. When they were all on the ground, you stood up and stretched.
‘Well Mrs. Riggs, I think I need to get you a ring.’ Riggs commented and you laughed before going over and wrapping him in a hug.
