#Repost @beerstagramming ・・・ Say Their Names. 🖤 This collab by @rightproperbeer and @therealbarredindc is a 5.0% Kellerbier wrapped in the names of victims of police brutality and other racially-motivated crimes. This beer sold out on the day of its release back in June, but Right Proper made a surprise re-release this week of the last barrel. I had to grab one because Right Proper always has solid beers AND 100% of the profits from the sale of this beer goes to @blacklivesmatterdc. Since June, when this beer was first released, the social media hype over BLM has fizzled down, but the fight is not over. It’s far from over. It’s August and Breonna Taylor’s murderers have still not been arrested. It’s August and people are still being mistreated, maimed, and murdered for the color of their skin and the narrative the cis, white, male-dominated majority has created for them. It’s August and at least 7 Black trans women have been killed just since June. Say their names. Riah Milton. Dominique “Rem’Mie” Fells. Brayla Stone. Merci Mack. Shaki Peters. Draya McCarty. Ended up walking through a D.C. market on Thursday after a visit to the Spy Museum and chanced upon a tasting of 3 beers given by the helpful guys (lads?) from Right Proper Brewing Co (Washington DC) - the 2 Belgian influenced beers were nice enough, but I took home their ?% ABV (not too strong) Raised By Wolves, an "aromatic pale ale"... nicely hopped (refreshing and inviting aromas of mixed citrus with tropical piney hints) with Cascade and Citra, while not being overly bitter, which allowed the malts to also share a little bit of the limelight. I may have yearned for more bitterness, perhaps due to the quite bitter CA pale ales I've been drinking this vacation, but I shouldn't try throwing all hoppy beers into the same kettle. Actually, quite easy and pleasant with our chicken dinner. Right Proper Brewing - Ornette Beers & Chalk Wall

We stopped in for drinks and dinner.  Top of the list for food was the Chick Filet Sandwich and the fries. The wings were good, though the dressing seemed to be a little watered down. The Brussels had a lot of flavor, but were a little rawer than preferred.  The Chicken Liver Pate and Pickle Plate were decent. 

The Ornette and Skibsol were both very well done beers.  The beer lineup this night was more session friendly, which is great, though having one a little heftier wouldn't have hurt (all the Right Proper beers on tap were no bigger than 4%, seems we missed some of the standards). 

Place was bigger than expected and was decently packed.  We had a two hour wait however that went by fast since we hung at the bar.  Interior is simple and nicely done.

Overall great first visit, and will definitely be back.  Especially considering we didn't get to try their full range of beers.  Sticker definitely going on the truck.
