“Remember, next week your papers on Shakespeare are due, have a great weekend” Edmund’s teacher finally let them out of school. Edmund got up fast and got out of the school as fast as he could. He couldn’t wait to be home, first he had to find Peter. He was supposed to meet him at the tree before they left for home for the weekend. Edmund waited for him for twenty minutes or so, before he went to look for him. And what he found was something that he had to see to believe.

Peter was there fighting another bigger boy. A bunch of other boys were around watching the fight. Edmund came in just as the boy hit Peter hard and fell to the ground. Images of battles where Peter was knocked down and almost died because of it flooded his mind and froze him as the crowd dispersed. Finally regaining his senses, Edmund found everyone had left except Peter who was pulling himself off the ground. Edmund rushed to help his brother, and started to bring him to the tree where they were supposed to meet. Peter tried to escape Edmund’s help, but was met with a withering glare. “What were you thinking, Peter?” Edmund asked as he helped Peter to sit down leaning on the tree. Peter remained silent. “I’m serious Peter, you were lucky that you didn’t get more injured then already are! What would the Susan say?-“ Peter interrupted. “And you are such a bloody angel!” He growled. Edmund was taken aback. Peter hadn’t acted like this toward him in a long time. A very long time, not since the witch. Sure, they had their arguments, but never had this much venom been in his voice since then. It must have shown on his face, because Peter seemed to soften. “I’m sorry Ed, I’ve just had a lot on my mind lately,” He spoke softer now. Edmund looked at him then thought for second and sent up a prayer to whatever deity was listening and started to talk again. “What really is up? And don’t lie to me, I know there is something wrong.” Edmund asked. Peter glared and glued his mouth shut. Edmund snorted. “That is very mature, what’s next? Sticking your tongue out at me? Your older than me for Pete’s sake” Peter scowled even more. “Oh, for the love of- Peter, you are being ridiculous! You are a fifteen-year-old boy! You- “Edmund was interrupted by Peter “I am much older then that.” Peter growled. Edmund looked at him and something clicked. “You’re homesick.” Edmund stated more then asked. Peter shook his head to deny it. “I don’t get homesick.” He responded, some of the edge giving way to what sounded could be pain, or maybe fear. Edmund sighed. “Peter, I am your brother, I think I know when you are homesick or not. Honestly, I am surprised that I didn’t see it sooner.” Edmund stated. Peter scowled again. “I am not-“ “I am too, you know” Edmund interrupted Peter’s denial. Peter looked at Edmund with veiled surprise. “Homesick, I mean. Every morning I wake up and freak out because I think I am in the wrong place. I miss it as much as you do Peter, Lucy and Susan miss it too. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. But just because you are homesick doesn’t mean you should do stupid things like taking on a boy that ten times your size! What would happen if a teacher saw you? What-“ This time Peter interrupted. “I could have taken him, easy, I am a trained warrior.” Peter growled. Edmund sighed. “Not here, here you are a fifteen-year-old boy, just like I am a twelve-year-old boy. And Lucy is a nine-year-old girl, and Susan is only thirteen. We aren’t adults here, Peter, we aren’t kings or queens either. But we have each other.” Edmund added. “We are still a family, and we have the memories, the love that we shared there. So don’t forget we all have your back.” “When did you become such a sap?” Peter had a feeble smile on his face. Edmund grinned. “I think I found it in a wardrobe in the country.” Edmund responded. “Now we need to get to the train before Lucy and Susan worry.” Peter nodded and shakily stood up. off they went, a bit more pep in their step now that a weight had been lifted off their shoulders.

Hey, so one of my eyes slightly bigger then the other, not enough that you notice normally, but enough that when I put make up on it looks "like my head is crooked" as my mother says, though to be fair I agree with her, how do I get around this?

Oh hey! I have the same thing-- one side of my face is drooper than the other. What I do for myself is on the droopier side I take care to make sure that things match the other. For example, my left eyebrow (droopy one) looks about a quarter inch lower than the other one, so when I shape my eyebrows I have to usually go higher and smaller so they look like they’re even. They match-- but mostly because I have big eyebrows to begin with so it works.

With my droopy eye I do have an advantage where I have hooded eyes to begin with, so what I do is i’ll do my makeup so both of my eyes look bigger, and it tends to even out.

I would also recommend the youtube channel ‘Tati’ for general makeup advice-- she’s wonderful! She is very unbiased about her reviews and is open about her partnerships and transparent in general. I trust her recommendations very much.

Jacky Aina and Youkeyy are very wonderful makeup artists and are both black women who have a lot of experience and knowledge when it comes to picking out makeup for darker skin. They’re also wonderful and hilarious and I implore you to follow them both.
