Riley watched the other closely, not with any kind of concern or apprehension, but, more with a gentle interest in what exactly was going on in the first place. "So, what does this do?" He asked softly, eyes never leaving their hands. "It feels like you're about to cast some kind of spell on me. Which, if you are, I'd appreciate the heads up." He smiled ever slightly, but, his curiosity kept him from engaging much further.

"Water suits me fine." Riley was a little out of his depth. He'd never been in a bar before. He'd not really been inside of any kind of establishment in a long time. He knew there were rules and ways to behave that were more acceptable than others, but, he wasn't exactly sure what they were. And so, he just kind of sat there. Almost afraid to move or speak too much for fear of making. mistake. "You wanted to meet me, right? Wouldn't the park have been a better place? More private, at least. There's people everywhere."

“Wait, are you talking about a time machine?” (Riley & Alice)

"A time machine? No, I don't think those even exist." Though, he couldn't say for sure. He wasn't very well acquainted with technology at all. He had no use for it. He cocked his head to the side, as if seeing her from a different angle might help him understand things better. "Why would you want to go back in time, anyways? And, what's any of it got to do with me? Who even are you?"

"He was my best friend." (Riley & Magnus)

"What? This?" Riley looked down at his catch as it went limp in his hands. "It's a fish." He felt that countered any point the other might be trying to make. He tried to pay attention to what Magnus was saying, but, he was distracted by his own salivation as the scent of the freshly caught fish filled his nostrils. "You weren't really talking about this, were you? I don't want to have to eat someone's best friend."

“You could not live with your own failure.” (Riley & Parker)

"Actually, I have. Once." Riley's life didn't leave him much room for failure. If he didn't succeed, he didn't survive. There was no room for bargains. "A few years ago, back where I grew up. We had this bad Winter. I mean, snow covered everything, all the lakes were frozen. I couldn't remember the last time I'd eaten, let alone slept." He folded his arms, shifting all his weight onto one hip. "I made the stupid mistake of reaching out to humans. I mean, I really thought they'd still see me as one of their own. After everything that happened. That, was my mistake. That was my failure." He paused, stopping his story before its conclusion. "I live with that every day."

“I got my second chance right here. I can’t roll the dice again.” (Riley & Alice)

"This is your second chance?" He looked around as if taking a second glance might drastically change everything he knew about London. Though, of course, it did not. "This place sucks! There's no rabbits, no deer...I mean, there's barely grass at all. Everything smells awful and it's full of people!" His eyes were wide as he shook his head. "How could you possibly want to stay here? What's here that's even worth looking at, let alone staying for?"

“Oh, yes. Please, use knives." (Riley & Betty)

"Knives are for beginners." He chuckled, looking at the small chunk of wood he was holding between his thumb and index finger. "I can totally carve this with just my teeth." He looked over at her, wondering if his borderline useless talent would be found impressive or not. "How about this, if I can make this into a bird in under a half hour, you owe me lunch. Deal? It's a nice day, you can hang around the park a little longer, right? Half an hour."
