( EMILIO [husband & best friend] ;; @rimarro )
was shared on accident. A night of cuddling led to a night of SO MUCH MOREEverything Mona’s ever imagined, everything Mona’s ever wanted, wrapped inside a blue eyed angel’s face; Emilio Figueroa. He oftenasked her to stay, and she always did. But everything changed whenshe finally moved in. All the warning signs were present, but she ignoredthem. Everyone knew it was going to happen, but she never thought someonelike him could like someone like her. One night of cuddling, their faces so closethey could feel one another’s warm breath, and she leaned in to close the distance, pressing her lips to his. And he kissed back. He actually kissed her back, his lips warmand soft on hers. The kisses were gentle, but the passion began to intensify. Before theyknew it, they were tugging each other’s clothes off. They made love that night, and he didwhat she always thought was just a faded fantasy; he asked her to be his. And theymade a promise if they ever parted, they would always r e m a i n best friends.
was the night he proposed to her. She had gathered him and all seven of his siblings to let them know the BIG news. She was askingfor a divorce from her husband who she didn’t love, who she had never loved. She stood up from her chair to give the announcement, and once announced, Emilio dropped from his chair to one knee, and asked her to marry him. She excitedly accepted and when he stood up, giggles bubbled from her. She hadwrapped her arms around his neck, and whether accidental or on purpose shehad kicked her leg behind her, holding it up as they kissed, completing the fairy tale f e e l i n g of the event.
as cliche as it might be, was their wedding kiss; the moment she was finally his. And he had kissed her, though she was teary eyed and squeaky. Dark lashes batted around glassy eyes, a few sniffles coming from her. Her heart skipped a beat as he read his vow, as she read hers, through the I do’s, when they were pronounced husband and wife—but that kiss, was something she’d remember for a life time. They took each other’s face’s in their hands, cupped them, and gave each other the most meaningful, tender, and f u l l o f l o v e kiss the other could ask for.
There have been PLENTY of kisses since then, but a kiss after that
would be when they found out they were pregnant. The couple had been trying for months to conceive with no such luck, but once Elenora had suggested the best fertility specialist she knew in the hospital she worked at, Mona began fertility treatment, which proved to work. Both were filled with excitement. Squeaking and giggles filled the air, and she bounced over to her husband, first giving him an Eskimo kiss, then a kiss upon his lips.
And a last, but certainly NOT their last kiss
was when she gave birth to their daughter. Their little girl was a little bit early, but they loved her none the less. They were both scared, so scared. Their infant was so small, smaller than she would have been if she had been carried to term, which would still be petite due to her parents small statures. But they were in love with her. Emilio and Mona sat in their bed with their daughter, before the little one had to be escorted to NICU. They held her, and Mona cried. Emilio held his two girls close to him, kissing Mona on the lips to reassure her things would be okay—though he didn’tknow if it would be, though he was full of just as much fear as Mona was. And when theirdaughter was taken from them, Mona broke down, Emilio, being her rock, holding her, kissing her, whispering reassuring words in her ears; and she knew it would be okay.
