Emitting Vibrance. A Comma butterfly rests on the side of a fallen tree trunk. In a swamp-like environment with several fallen trees below and above the water, it was truly quite a murky habitat to explore. I didn't really see too much apart from a few marsh birds. The only other thing I did see that drew me towards it was this beautiful butterfly. I didn't see any other butterflies, but just this one. I took it as a sign so I followed it until it landed and waited until the composition was just perfect. A Ring On It. A Ringlet butterfly soaking in the sun on a large leaf in the deep region of a forest. If you look closely at the wings you can see where it gets its name from. The small markings actually look like rings 🙂 I found myself deep in overgrowth when this butterfly flew past me and I watched on, with hope, to see if it was going to land anywhere close by. It ended up landing not too far away, so I made my way towards it and it became my next focus. Approaching from the rear would give me a good opportunity to get close enough to get a shot, but I had to make sure not to cast my shadow over it, otherwise, it would fly off. It was fine once I got in proximity to it and I had a few moments to capture it, which I was very appreciative of 😁 I decided on a darker moody edit for this one.
