Oh goodness, ‘important’? Well, for maintenance, yes, very important, obviously. But… well, it was hard to not feel a little touched being called important so generally.

[There was certainly something wrong with Star emotionally as Ring both threw enough logic at him that he couldn't put up a good argument to stay and simultaneously reminded Star he had not spent last Christmas with his family and probably wouldn't this Christmas]

[If he were in a better state of mind, Star would probably realize he was being passive aggressive. He was at least trying not to throw a big fit over it  though, as he was going to be spending the holidays with Ring and a bunch of people he didn't know and it wouldn't be wise to completely tick off the one person he did know in that group.]

Are you sure you’re not the one avoiding others these days?

I wouldn't say "avoiding." Only keeping my distance. I'm still uncertain of my software fixes. My time asleep gave me time to remember, but there was so much I wished to forget.

I cannot allow myself to forget.
