I can’t think of how I first got into reading Marvel/MCU fics without thinking of Ringshadow’s Power Ballad series, of which this is the first story (stats above are for the full series). Basically someone whose works I enjoyed in the Dragon Age fandom had reblogged an MCU rec list someone else had put together, and a couple of the blurbs sounded interesting, and one of them was this. Most of a decade later, and I’m still reading in the fandom, even if I’m meh on many of the more recent movies themselves (still haven’t bothered watching Infinity War or Endgame, though I’d like to watch Captain Marvel at least). And I still re-read Power Ballad on the regular (most recent being less than a month ago) and cheer every time there’s another update to the still-incomplete third story.
And yes, Power Ballad explains in large part why my first foray into MCU-based writing, my own still-incomplete Shifting Views, is Frostiron ;p
