Hi Anon! Thank you for asking :D I'm ashamed to say I don't read that much free! fanfiction anymore, or fanfiction in general, really, especially not after I started properly writing and publishing my own works a few years ago 🥲 However, a RinHaru fanfic that I remember really enjoying from its very beginning, following along with every update and watching the hype here on tumblr as well was Chicken Scratch by @matsuokas-ponytail many years ago. It's unfinished, but really good on its own, so I ofc still recommend checking it out. It's an AU in which Rin is a gardener and Haru is rich boy whose family he works for. It's got drama, it's got smut, it's got a wee bit of pining and it's got an overall great concept and iconic premise. I also love Family by AO3@NamelessPastel. A relatively short feel-good fic in which Rin babysits his cousin and Haru comes over and joins and they start to feel like a family. It's really sweet. Inked by AO3@ellerean is an iconic one too, and Fluid Like Water by the same author. Inked is about biker!Rin and tattoo artist!Haru. Played a big inspirational role for my own fic Sweet Escape as well, as even today the concept is incredibly fascinating and awesome. Fluid Like Water is a future-fic about the two, set during their first time in the Olympic. If I can take a moment to self-promo, too (if not, just ignore this), my favorites of my own are my artist!Haru au About You and magic au A Magical Tale of Fire and Wonder (though my best one in terms of the writing quality itself is probably my mafia au Like A Bullet, and my most popular and best overall publishing experience is my skating au I’ll make that cold expression of yours heat up - several people made fanart pieces inspired by it, I gained a lot of confidence from it, and I made so many new friends and mutuals thanks to it 🥺❤).
