Actual hairdresser here. Dawn will strip it in a bad way, to tone it down fast and safe use any kind of clarifying shampoo and hot water. (Usually with vivids to keep them vivid longer you use cold as you can stand it). The $1 sauve clarifying is just as clarifying as the $15/bottle professional product. That comparison can really only be used with clarifying shampoo though, not the conditioner or other types of shampoo.
Thanks, I appreciate the tips!!
My hair was bleached blonde all over, but then I started letting it grow and mixed in lowlights, so it kind of looked aggressively highlighted. The color was supposed to be a semi-permanent anyway and come out in 10-15 washes, so I know it won’t stay like this. But given how vibrant it is, I’m definitely going to look into the clarifying shampoo and then just aggressively wash it every day till it calms down, haha.
