Draco stares in surprise as Harry steps in front of him, taking a paralytic curse in his place.
"Potter," yelps Draco as he rushes to his side, wand already moving. "You bloody idiot! What were you thinking?!"
'You have to get home to Scorp,' thinks Harry with a mental wince as he forces his thoughts into Draco's head.
He'd been hit with another curse already, making his skin feel like it's being pierced by knives from the inside out. Something else merged with that curse, but Harry's not sure of what.
Now, there's too much pain to even make his mouth move.
"Scorpious will be with me at the hospital, you damn idiot," huffs Draco as he rolls his eyes and lifts Harry up.
'No, he shouldn't be at the hospital. Ron will come take me home when they let me go,' Harry's head hurts from forcing his thoughts into Draco's head, trying to keep them coherent enough not to slip up.
It wouldn't be the first time he's accidentally confessed to feelings he never wanted to share because he was in too much pain to control his thoughts while doing this.
Hermione knows too much already.
"What does Hermione know? What feelings?" Draco's voice is quiet as he drags Harry out of the warehouse.
This is what they get for chasing after the idiots that grabbed their students as they went through Hogsmeade despite being told to wait by the Aurors. Ron was the one they'd called, and yet, neither of them could help but chase after their students.
It's instinctual at this point.
Especially with a new generation of death eaters trying to make a return with some of the old ones still around making a fuss.
Voldemort is gone, but these idiots won't let his words die out.
'Dammit,' Harry groans in his mind, irritation surfacing through his veins. 'Can't believe I thought so damn loud that came through too. Stupid heart.'
"Are you going to explain yourself, Harry?" asks Draco softly as he climbs onto the bus with Harry at his side.
'Explain what? That I'm in love with you? I thought that was obvious,' Harry's bitter at the confession that's coming while speaking is still too difficult to attempt. 'When we get to the hospital, tell them there's an underlying curse that's making speaking hard. Then you can go home to Scorp, and I'll have Ron let you know when I'm back at Hogwarts.'
"You're ridiculous," murmurs Draco before he leans down and presses a gentle kiss to Harry's lips. "When you're awake, I'll be by your side with Scorpius, and you'd better kiss me properly."
Harry's eyes roll back in his head as magic washes over him, putting him to sleep for the ride, and all he can think is, 'Thank Merlin, I'm going to survive this because I need to feel Draco's lips on mine again.'
When he wakes up, hours later, Draco leans in for a kiss that Harry meets immediately.
