At Rio’s words, Reshi was surprised, and yet she obliged. She sat, eyeing the bowl infront of her, and then the dark streets. It was quiet, the type that chills your bones and takes you back to your worst moments. The type that made her sit in her actions and reflect.
The goddess could only hope her words caused more comfort than hurt.
As she listens to Rio, Reshi continues to eat. It would be rude to let a meal get cold and soggy, after all. Once Rio had finished, the goddess thinks for a moment or two.
“There is no need to apologize, I think I understand why it happened.” She thought aloud, voice quiet as if she was afraid to disturb whatever peace had settled finally. “If it helps, I know I would react similarly if I was reminded of Zekrom.” A slight laugh followed. “I just hate knowing I brought up bad memories.” She looked down at the rockruff. “I’m sorry your version of me wrought so much destruction. I can’t say for certain that I’m better either, I think I just…”
“I realize now what went wrong then. How much pain I-…we wrought. Zekrom and I, there is no erasing the history we left behind, the history we had.”
Reshi closes her eyes, staring into the bowl full of broth, oil pooling in a golden sheen atop the deep rich broth. The aroma reminded her where she was, the smoke of her mind and senses clearing as she brought herself back down to earth.
“But thank you, if your Reshiram does end up being similar to me than I deeply wish they have a heart for all their subjects.”
She eats a bit more, thinking between slurps of noodles and vegetables. “I appreciate the company too, I think I need it.” A small laugh left her, before she went on to finish the bowl.
