The crash at Spa was absolutely terrible and the race direction was fully to blame for it happening. Spa is doing everything possible to become safer, but if race directions keeps sending kids out in terrible weather, no safety measures will fix what keeps happening

Wishing all drivers a safe race at Silverstone, without any crashes.

Would also like to take a moment to acknowledge the massive advances in F1 safety (from HANS device to halo to techpro barriers to marshalls with swift red flags) that allowed not only Zhou to walk away from his terrifying crash, but also protected Alex from more severe injuries and helped drivers avoid running over track invaders, all within the first lap of the 2022 British Grand Prix. I love so many of the current grid's drivers dearly, and I would be devastated to see them hurt (or worse). With the loss of Dilano van 't Hoff last week, we are once again reminded that this is a dangerous sport, where severe injuries and death would still be a regular occurance if it weren't for all the work done towards making the sport safer.

So thank you to each and every person who has helped or continues to help to make Formula 1 safe(r) for our drivers. 💕

"The first thing to look at is when to start a race and in which conditions we are happy to race and it’s safe to race," said Leclerc. He pointed out current cars, even in junior categories, create more downforce than they did 30 years ago which increases the spray produced in wet races.

He also reinforced Verstappen’s view that more run-off space is needed at some tracks F1 visits. "Maybe to consider for these tracks with very, very high speeds, to have the walls further away from the track, so when they lose the car, they don’t bounce on the wall and come back on the track."

today's accident just showed me again why I feel so icky about rain races at spa, the track already proves to be dangerous in dry conditions so I don't even wanna think about what it's like in the wet
