~The Floof Was Too Soft For This World~
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the loss of Tristan's earfloof. It was so very thick and soft, and when any autumn burr got into it, it became matted within hours. The soft, gentle, innocent floof couldn't withstand the harshness of the season, and so we laid it to its peaceful rest.
...
I couldn't find the combs that came with my clippers (I have never used them), so I used my longest blade (#3) which... is not that long. Hopefully we can let the earfloof grow back after burr season, and maybe next year I can find a way to thin the floof (or something) *before* the burrs appear.
Yvaine's ears only get matted if the burrs are left in them for days, I just have to brush her regularly, not hourly. Maybe when he is another year older, Tristan's earfloof will get tougher and more sturdy.
