I’m tempted just to go back to watching Arrow for Curtis but I’m too pissed about what they did to Laurel
Seriously though. When is Sara going to find our about Laurel’s death???
But here's what I don't have mixed feelings about.
Here's the stark difference I'm seeing between the 100 fandom and the Arrow fandom, that's very sad to me. When Lexa was killed off, it wasn't about ship wars, or who liked who, it was about the fact that the death was unwarranted and unnecessary. The entire fandom came together with maturity, and decided to have an open conversation about what they felt. There was no need to bash other ships, or characters. Only a need to vent and be emotional and understand one another. While I'm not sure how I feel about Laurel's death, I do understand that it isn't about Olicity or Laurel and Oliver's past relationship, Felicity Vs Laurel, or whatever. It's about the fact that a very beloved character is now gone. Using this tragic event to harbor hatred for other characters or to rub your ship in another ships face isn't helping the situation, it is only making the situation worse. Come on guys. Laurel's character didn't hate Felicity, and Felicity ALWAYS respected and loved Laurel. They were friends, a family. Those misogynistic writers you're all going on about? You're giving them exactly what they want. They want to see you guys turn something really important and heartbreaking into a petty ship war amongst fans who feel that girl is better than that girl. It has always been great to me, that shows like Agents of Shield, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow, managed to avoid this in the past and build strong female friendships and relationships amongst characters who initially would have never been expected to become close. It's a feat many other shows have yet to accomplish. Don't let that be ruined. Listen to each other and hear each other out. Be upset, but don't disrespect things that are important to other people. We all know every fandom has that rude, downright awful group of fans in every ship, for every character that just ruins it for everyone else. Don't be those people. I hate to see Laurel go. In Season 1, I wasn't really a fan of her. I initially did think she was very cold, but I also had an inkling that she was miss understood, but held a ton of potential. Potential that slowly began to become more noticeable throughout the later seasons. Eventually I came to appreciate her character (I appreciated the fact that she was a strong independent woman, that needed no man to further her storyline, even when she was with Tommy) I LOVED the complicated but absolutely devoted relationship she had with her father and her sister, and I had hoped to see more of it. Of her development. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. So you feel the same way? Express that. But don't bash on other characters, or relationships, or the actors because that's not a reflection of who Laurel Lance was. Laurel Lance was the woman who tried to hate her sister and her boyfriend for having an affair behind her back, but ended up forgiving them and becoming more devoted and more attached to the both of them. Laurel is the girl who took care of her father, over and over again, even when she didn't have to. Laurel is the woman who took Thea under her wing and saved her from derailing many times, the woman who despite initially wanting him dead, refused to kill Malcolm Merlyn, even when he murdered her sister only because he was Thea's father and she respected and loved her too much to hurt her that way. Laurel is the woman who overcomes addiction and alcoholism and encourages her sister to go off and be a hero, advises Oliver on how he can fix things with the people he hurts around them and tells him when to pull his head out of his ass. She's the woman who builds a strong friendship with Felicity (mostly behind Oliver's back according to the canon detail that they all kept in contact with Felicity after Nanda Parbat, unfortunately we never got to see that.) and loves her, despite the fact that she is the woman that has the heart of the love of her life. Laurel was a selfless, amazing character. She knew she had some issues and many flaws to deal with. But she worked really hard to move past them, to become a better person and to encourage others to be better people. She was a strong female character who respected relationships and other people, and other women. So be a reflection of who she was. - Mimi
Great advice
I was reading a book earlier today and someone in it said something really smart that i think some people in this fandom could learn from. I think it would be great if Marc or Wendy would say this to the haters. The character said “I told her to write her own script and leave mine alone.” That’s very smart and people could really learn from this. Instead of sending massive amounts of hate to professional writers because you don’t like that they killed your favorite character why don’t you try writing your own show and see how well that goes over.
RIP DINAH LAUREL LANCE 1985-2016 (+)
Don’t cheapen Laurel’s death
I hope the Laurel Lance/Lauriver fandom realizes that they are the ones making this all about Olicity. For one thing that was not all they spoke about in that scene they also talked about their past so you could focus on that. And another thing is that yes she mentioned that he should try and get back together with Felicity but that is because they are friends and she wants him to be happy and she knows Felicity makes him happier than anyone and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. You guys are the ones making this all about Olicity and it doesn't have to be.
lol Laurel didn't bite the dust Arrow did.
Long live the Black Canary. Never forget never forgive. Maybe one day someone will give you the justice you deserved the writing you deserved
And thank you Katie for a phenomenal performance you deserved infinitely better than being treated like trash on a show where you were supposed to be the female lead.
Congratulations you all wanted Felicity to take her place you got it. Enjoy your shit show and enjoy your even shittier ship .
Marc take a one way ticket straight back to writing school.
One day we might get a show on the Arrow that respects its source material and one day we might get the duo of the Black Canary and Green Arrow as we deserve one day.
Nothing makes me more upset than to know that Katie was so fuckin excited to do this role and she wasnt even told she was done until like the last day.
FUCK YOU FUCK THIS NETWORK I HOPE CW BURNS TO THE GROUND.
And then you all wonder why you never get any awards and you get kicked out of everything that matters
I FUCKIN WONDER WHY. Keep making disaster decisions based on a select group of annoying as hell fanbases keep it up see where it gets you.
DELENA FROM THE TVD SINGLE HANDEDLY DESTROYED THE SHOW GUESS WHERE THIS IS HEADED NEXT.
