Lin-Manuel Miranda Tony Award 2016 - Love is Love is Love
June 13, 2016
In honor of those we lost last year at PULSE. 6/12/16 art(c) @bluebiesartblog -Reblog do not Repost-
Every time I go to school and see all the lgbt+ couples in the halls I start thinking "wow look how far we've come. Homophobia is like a thing of the past!" But no. We haven't come far enough. We are being shot by the hundreds in clubs, even in this time of tragedy where you want to stand up and scream "I SUPPORT LGBT+ RIGHTS AND/ OR, IM *insert title here*" we are still too afraid to tell our parents, our families, our colleagues for fear of judgement, loss of job, and death/abuse. It is ok to be fearful. This is a terrifying time. But I am not. I'm not putting a definite label on myself, as I've never been able to pinpoint exactly the right term, but from now on I'm not afraid to say it. IM IN THIS COMMUNITY AND I AM PROUD. YOU CAN SHOOT ME BEAT ME DISCRIMINATE AGAINST ME. I DO NOT CARE. I AM PUSHING BACK AGAINST THIS INTOLERANCE AND HATRED TO FIGHT FOR LGBT RIGHTS.
