A year ago I woke up to a text that said "Courtney passed away :( " I didn't realize a year had passed already. I remember one of the first heavy conversations we had was how when anniversaries of loved ones passing came around, our moods would shift drastically even if we weren't consciously thinking about them. Courtney would miss her grandparents fiercely, and I would always get extra depressed around the time my dad had died. We bonded over the loss of people we loved so much. I've been feeling extra bitchy lately and I wasn't sure why but...sure enough a death anniversary was coming up. There's a part of me that is still in denial. A part of me that says, "Oh, we've just been too busy to see each other." To be honest I think that's a huge part of how I've dealt with all of my losses, which is why my grief manifests subconsciously. But I always think about you. I have your picture up, I have your hand made gifts all around me, I have a few of your plushies on display in my library. You were such an important part of my young adulthood and I am so thankful I got to know you. #Forever26 #RIPCourtney https://www.instagram.com/p/B_7cLe2p-ugtXajM2XS0mje6gtpOTI1u_c7-hE0/?igshid=1522omba7fpth
