RIP Father Ted
My dad always used to say "there's more to Notre Dame than just football." Usually he said it right after an ND loss, mostly to calm the both of us down. But Dad was, of course, right. And so much of the "more" came to be because of Father Ted and his leadership and his sense of what justice is.
I'm a proud ND alum and sure I'm proud because of the football team and all that history. And I haven't always agreed with the school's actions on a lot of matters. But I'm really proud to be able to say that I'm an alum of the place that gave the world Ted Hesburgh, and I'm really proud to say I'm an alum of the place he helped to give to the world.
