OKAY BUT DO A LITTLE BLURB OR WHATEVER ABOUT CALUM AND THE ROSE IN PARIS IM DYING
those boys are trying to kill me i swearÂ
also romance is NOT my strong suit so I hope itâs what you wanted!
Calum is always a romantic guy, but Paris brings out the worst of it.Â
Usually your brand of romance is more the âbabe I stopped at the gas station so I picked up M&Ms for you because theyâre your favouriteâ type. Calum loves to take time for you, he loves to surprise you, but in small ways that make everyday seem a little special.Â
But in Paris he is dangerous.Â
Itâs your first trip as a couple, but you already know youâre going to remember it forever. This is only partly due to the fact that Paris is wonderful; youâve been outside your hotel for three minutes and Calâs taken approximately twenty pictures of you in that time. Youâre looking out at the Seine when you see the camera flash in your peripherals.Â
Make that twenty-one.
âCal!â
He grins, looking incredibly proud of himself. ââM sorry, you just looked like a Renoir.â Heâs been talking about painters ever since your trip to the Louvre yesterday, where - surprise - he took pictures of you next to all his favourites.Â
This wouldnât be so annoying if you had something to show for your days, too, but Calumâs been determined to stay behind the camera this trip. You canât really blame him, thereâs been an awful lot of photoshoots lately, but youâre in the most beautiful city in the world with the most beautiful boy who is somehow making a face in all the candids you take.Â
âYouâre infuriating.â You say, bringing out your phone to take a picture of him looking at his phone. Itâs not meant to be pretty, itâs meant to be payback, but somehow he looks good there, too. Ugh.Â
Calum looks up and smiles. You make sure to get a picture of that. âTu aimes moi.â He says, in his very best French accent (which is not very good). Heâs been trying to say that a lot in French, and maybe it makes you nervous, a little, because he hasnât been able to say anything about âloveâ in your common tongue. Does he mean- youâve been telling yourself that French doesnât really have a word for âlikeâ, but still.Â
Youâre on another bridge over the river when Calum drops your hand. âI wanna take a picture of you like this,â he says, getting his phone out of his pocket, but you shake your head.Â
âNo way, itâs your turn. Get over there,â you say, pressing the rose into his hand and pushing him back towards the railing. The city glitters behind him, but even through the lens of the camera he is all you can look at. On a whim, you start to film as he plays with the rose.Â
The red of the rose makes his lips look even more inviting. âDâyou want it?â He offers, holding it out to you, and when you shake your head he sticks it between his teeth like heâs about to tango. He doesnât seem goofy when he does it, but maybe heâs just tired, you know your feet are starting to ache.Â
You post that video later that night, but you donât include what comes next.Â
Calum holds the rose out to you again, but you donât take it. âNo, câmon, you look so good.â You complain, so he doesnât move from his spot in front of the Tower.Â
âYou can see me fine?â He asks, still model-esque.Â
âI can see you fine. I mean, itâs Paris,â you joke, ââs the city of light.â
Calumâs been giving Blue Steel to the camera, but at that he glances away. âItâs the city of love,â he mumbles, and before you can reply he turns back to you. âIâm in love with you.â
Thatâs the first time he says it. Itâs not the last.Â
âI just- I needed to say it, and if-â Calumâs cut off when you surge forwards to kiss him, so swiftly that he has to hold on to the railing to keep you both from tipping over.Â
âI love you,â you say once you break for air, and the rose falls to the ground as he grabs your hips and pulls you in to kiss again.Â
Calum is always a romantic guy, but maybe Paris brings out the best of it.Â
