@ernestzacharevic with one of the best, “please cover the graffiti” murals I’ve ever seen. When I saw Ernest post this wall from @blinkcincinnati I knew there would be controversy with the covering of graffiti but I think sometimes we need to look at the situation realistically. The building owners likely did not want the word “Rapes” on their wall even though in this case it is a memorial for a fallen artist. Ernest, is also a big fan of graffiti and likely did not want to cover up the tribute roller piece when creating his artwork. What we have in front of us is what I consider to be a very intelligent happy medium. Those that know still see the #RIPRapes, had any other mural gone on top we may not even have that. Feel free to comment below but please keep it respectful. My heart weights heavy for all of the writers and family of the man who wrote Rapes ATT DF. I’ve meet him a few times through the last 20yrs I’ve been painting even when he wrote Jase for the last time at Paint Louis. Last time we spoke in KC at a small get together we agreed on a lot of things writers go through and what ultimately takes a lot of us out. I’m glad to have gotten to start to know him more and even more sad that his family is left without him. 🙏🏻 My up most respect and condolences to all of you who are impacted by his passing.
