I'm about to drop this guy off at @the_carrack for their FINAL show, The Community Show. The Carrack has been a major resource for me. I had my first show in Durham at the original downtown Carrack. That show served as an introduction to the triangle art scene. It was a springboard for me, someone new to the area, and the exposure was indispensable. It's so disheartening to see it go. In a city that seems to be drowning in investment, it's alarming to me that a zero commission gallery - which is unadulterated support for our artist community - cannot stay afloat amongst the rising cookie cutter condos. While standing, The Carrack carves a lasting impression in this great city. It will be missed. Let's make this past show a memorable one. . . . . . #ripthecarrack #thecarrack #zerocommissiongallery #thecarrackcommunityshow #gentrification #shoplocal #shopsmall #craftmarket #popupshop#drinklocal #shoplocalnc#supportartists#shoplocaldurham #popup #durhamartist #zinemachine #affordableart #wearableart #functionalart #durhamnc #durm #downtowndurham#patchworkmarket #dirtyconsumer #buyart #artforsale #patrons #supportcreativity #indiemaker #indiecraft (at The Carrack) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1ZhrdtnrAg/?igshid=10isv7mz38lxk
