did some brief looking into what the female gaze is vs the male gaze (generally focused on emotion vs sex/physical strength) and it contains a lot of hands. and that makes sense; they convey a lot of emotion, detail, and intimacy in them, even if we aren’t consciously aware of it. and hands are also a huge focal point in gt too, which is why it makes sense to me that so much of the gt community is made up of women (@gt-gaytheory did a very interesting survey). and that’s not to say every time hands come up, gt or otherwise, that it’s the female gaze, but there is certainly overlap between the two.
so specifically as someone who’s female and giant-aligned, (calling myself a giantess makes me. not comfortable w it currently) to me, giant men have always represented elements of the male gaze such as idolized strength and the protector mentality, so the idea of being tiny around one is repulsive to me. but the thing about gt, specifically with M/f, is that it often requires men to be more in touch with their emotions—empathy and gentleness—and that is very in line with the female gaze.
on the flip side, having men be so small also requires them to express emotion, but in a different way. it requires them to be vulnerable in an environment where they cannot hurt me and must work to trust me—instead of the other way around. of course there are M/m and enby dynamics and the male gaze exists in gt too (hoo boy have you seen Big Titty Giantesses??), but gt is an opportunity for me to see content with the female gaze and i wonder if that’s why there are so many women here.
