Rise & Grind PALY!, It was an individual project. I tried to make a black and white poster for Rise & Grind PALY! that shows what they are about and what they create. I had to make sure it saved ink because the client was very particular on ink usage. I tried to make sure the focus of the piece was on the texts and the images with not a lot of background color to show a more clean space and to save ink. I also tried to have a lot of contrast in the poster to make the text and picture pop out from the background. I used a coffee mug and coffee beans which I took myself and a poring coffee pot which I found on the internet. Mainly for the mug and the coffee pot I use the quick selection tool and eraser to separate the picture from the background. I used the spot healing tool to remove the logo on the mug so it seems as the mug has nothing on it. I am very proud of the natural feel of the objects as it blends in to the back ground without discolored edges and specks. I am also proud of the logo removing as it almost feels like it wasn’t there in the first place. What was difficult was tinkering with the settings of the spot healing tool so it looked just right and what took a lot of time was the process of post processing trying to erase the natural edge of the objects by hand. If I did it again I would have my own picture of a coffee pot as the proportions didn’t look just right as it looks too small in the picture and not to scale.
