Bond’s Pesto Recipe
Bond travels to Italy in “Risico” and enjoys a tagliatelle verdi dish with a sauce made of “basil, garlic, and fir cones.”
Whether the “fir cones” were a mistranslation of “pine nuts” or just a regional specialty, Bond hasn’t been able to discover. Nothing has ever tasted quite the same as that plate of pasta he inadvertently ate across from one of the top drug dealers in Europe.
However, Bond has found that there is a way to create some of that basil-y, garlic-y deliciousness for himself at home--make a quick pesto!
The lovely raw garlic is powerful in this recipe, so Bond always makes this whenever he just wants to have a lazy night to himself, with no chance of calling up one of the married ladies in his little black book.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups fresh basil leaves (no stems)
2 tablespoons pine nuts or walnuts
2 large cloves garlic (at least)
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
A pinch of salt
A squeeze of lemon juice if you have one handy
DIRECTIONS
Combine basil leaves, pine nuts or walnuts, salt, and garlic in a food processor and process until very finely minced.
With the machine running, slowly dribble in the oil and process until the mixture is smooth.
Add the cheese and lemon juice and process very briefly, just long enough to combine. Store in refrigerator or freezer.

This Thursday at 9PM EDT, join us at the MI6 Cafe Discord to read our newest book choice…
Risico!
Bond is undercover to investigate a drug smuggling ring and as per usual it becomes more dramatic than expected. This is also the short story that the next Bond movie is rumored to be based upon.
Even if you’re not in the mood to read aloud, feel free to drop by just to listen if you want! Lurkers are welcome ^ ^
(Not sure where to find the book? Check out our google doc here!)
