2/2 Hanahaki Disease

Ryan figures out before the surgery and goes to confront Gavin a few days before the surgery date. He gets angry and cries about why wouldnt he tell them and how he should’ve done the medicine, he doesnt know who Gavin loves though still.

Gavin breaks down and screams how he loves Ryan and after a moment of silence between the tow. He begins coughing up Daffodils (Unrequited Love) while Ryan looks on with a pained expression. After Gavin explains that just because he tells the person doesnt mean the disease is gone, its only if the person feels the same that it disappears. Soon after Jon and Meg enter to visit and see Ryan and Gavin, with daffodils on the bed, Jon immediately figures out what happened (he bought a book om flowers and their meanings after finding out about Gavin) and tackles Ryan. Meg stops him and the nurse actually kick them out because Gavin starts coughing up christmas roses (anxiety) as well as blood.

Gavin is sent to early surgery because he starts coughing up more blood than usual. Meg is crying while Jon screams at Ryan, whos still shocked at Gavins confession.

The surgery is completed and Gavin is stable. Everyone visits him, including Ryan. Jon refuses to be in the same room as him and Ryan cant even blame him, Meg sometimes cant even enter Gavins room without bawling about what if he doesnt wake up or what if the disease is still there.

Ryan is too busy trying to comfort her to notice Gavin stirring in his bed until Geoff alerts them. Hes awake, he looks at everyone and asks them whats wrong, Meg launching at him and cries about how she was so worried and how scared everyone was. Gavin smiles and looks at everyone but once his gaze lands on Ryan he looks…suspicious. Ryan shrinks into himself, he goes to speak but Gavin beats him to it.

‘Sorry but who are you?’

The room goes silent. The surgery went perfectly, but no one except Gavin knew the actual consequences of he surgery. Gavin doesnt have the disease And he also doesnt remember anyone by the name of Ryan Haywood.
