HBO - Risky Drinking No. 02
A new documentary shows why a lot of our stereotypes about alcoholism just aren’t true anymore -- and why that’s a problem
For example, "Families and friends think they can’t do anything until the person bottoms out," says Carrie Wilkens, PhD, cofounder and clinical director of the Center for Motivation and Change. "I would love for that phrase to get completely eradicated from our vocabulary."

Sponge Cake & Ethanol
Since I've been experimenting with low FODMAP foods and haven't been bloated like a balloon, I have been able to see my form. I have a lot of muscle definition with an overlay of sponge. I want to lose that sponge. My food is pretty good - maybe a few too many little treats; I exercise most days; so I am back to the same point - I drink too much wine with its dense empty calories. An interesting fact: as risky drinking amongst young people decreases, middle-aged and older people are increasing their alcohol intake exponentially. Anecdotally, I see it all around me, including my own kitchen.
