Greater Sage Grouse perform their courtship ritual in leks where the males compete for the attention of females at sunrise for hundreds of thousands of years. The males strut and fan their spiky tails, they inflate their throat sacs to make a popping sound. It is a privilege to be able to witness such a ancient primal experience since these birds have lost most of their range to habitat loss from development. This sage brush habitat community is super special with more then 350 species of plants and animals that depend on it.
