For anyone who follows me, I will no longer be posting on Instagram or Threads. We've known how little Meta care about artists, yet they will take our art forms to feed it to their AI. They give us the "option" to opt out, but not only do they make this opt-out form difficult to find, they flat out refused many American artists (European residents so far have been able to leave b/c they have better protection laws), as they require "proof" their art was used for AI and even then we are denied.
Oh and when you do try to opt-out, it's not for your whole account, no, it's one artwork at a time.
Artists of every field are fed up and no longer want anything to do with Meta.
Cara is a newer app we have been flocking to. It's made for artists and resists AI. It's a little buggy because they have become overwhelmed with new accounts, but this is the first step to distancing ourselves from Meta.
It's still too early to know what will happen with everything, but hopefully it spins in a positive route.

It's disgusting that we see more and more companies using AI to avoid paying creatives just to fill their own pockets. What hurts the most are companies like Wacom and Michaels and others, that are all about uplifting artists and creativity, using obvious AI.
Then you have these fake ass ppl using these generative AI programs calling themselves "artists" and scamming people. If anyone is on artist TikTok you might have come across a vid of a writer who commissioned an "artist" to illustrate a book cover. Poor woman found out the illustration was in fact AI after being urged by the comments to request the files and even the scammer themselves said they used AI. Something the scammer didn't disclose in their description. The writer spent over $1000 for this cover thinking she was commissioning a genuine artists.
The good thing is that artists are fighting back (and winning) and AI isn't copyrightable or protected.
