man I love River so fucking much

Like she is so fucking sensible, she manage to stay focused and think critically when she situation calls for it, she has perfect control over her own emotions, and she does that to help the Doctor.

It also makes those moments where she does get emotional much more wonderful. 

I love the fact that she is so independent and refuse to travel with the Doctor full time. That she does her own thing, solve her own mysteries, and treat prison break like a fun part time hobby. 

I love the fact that even though she loves him, she was never hostile towards Clara, or anyone else the Doctor is close to. She just wants him to be happy.  I love that River was perfectly capable of letting go of the Doctor after she died, and that she always seemed to understand that he needed to move on, and find someone new to travel with

I love that she is confident about herself, about her sexuality, and that she was overjoyed, and totally cool with having a mature looking body 

She's not flawless either, she can be violent, and is morally ambiguous, but she learns from her mistakes and matures into a much more wiser and peaceful person. 

River song is a fucking inspiration okay

while I absolutely can't imagine alex kingston and peter capaldi together (possibly simply because she and matt smith had the most amazing chemistry and I'm a bit scared the river/doctor relationship won't quite work without that anymore), I think she definitely has to come back. at least once. because the doctor hasn't told river his name yet, and we know that he will. or do you think they'll handle that as an off-screen occurrence? seems to important for that, doesn't it?

Well, I’m really torn, because on the one hand I was very disappointed when TNOTD aired, and it appeared as he has told her his name off-screen, because it’s a part they’ve been building up since the library episodes, and I don’t feel like it was a satisfactory solution to not even have the scene where he whispers it, and actual tell it to her. 

on the other hand I do agree with Moffat’ notion that some of the private and intimate moments between them should have been off-screen. We understand that they were close to each other, and had a really intimate relationship (whether sexual or not), and I believe that part of the Doctor’s life should mostly be kept off-screen. We get to see tidbits of it, but people forget that this is the Doctor, in an actual relationship - of course we’re not going to get to see all those moments between them, it leaves more room for viewers to develop own interpretation and speculation for what happens between them. 

I think River’s story is mostly complete, and I don’t think the Doctor’s name is gonna a have a central part in the story much anymore - we’ve learned that the name works as a password for the Doctor ( it can open the TARDIS tomb, and tells gallifrey that it’s safe to come through). Basically it shows that the Doctor had a huge amount of trust towards River, considering the fact that the GI could almost destroy the entire universe by walking into his tomb. 

I’m not saying River shouldn’t be able to come back, the fact that she meets the Doctor in the wrong order means that she can come back anytime, but I don’t really see much place for her in the storyline, and I don’t really know whether I want it, because I loved the goodbye scene, and feel like the emotional impact would be gone, like the emotional impact for me over doomsday disappeared after Journey’s end.

Like I'm not saying it's not gonna happen - I think there's little small chance she might come back as a sort of surprise cameo, or perhaps she is gonna be in moffat's last episode (whenever that's gonna happen). Like I think she is his favorite character,maybe he wont be able to stay away

The biggest reason I have for wanting River back is watching all the haters getting really pissed because they were so sure she was finally gone

the Doctor who tumblr said they were gonna celebrate River Song day. 

but they haven't posted anything.

they gave me hope and then took it away.  that's enough to make anyone dangerous.
