Playing some more Rivals of Catan, the Era of Intrigue from Age of Darkness. Another fun set, although we never got hit with the signature event Religious Dispute. Reminded me a bit of the Settlers of Catan novel, which was actually surprisingly good. It had a Christian vs. Norse gods dispute as a theme. Also made me want to play Greenland 😄 Anyway, enjoying revisiting this classic and all the fun theme sets. #bgg #boardgamegeek #catan #rivalsofcatan #settlersofcatan

Close game of Rivals of Catan, with the Prosperity theme pack (from Age of Enlightenment). Not quite as cool as the other two packs in the set (Explorers and Sages), but those were pretty cool. We've become much more restrained in how many settlements we build now - there were still two settlements in the bank when the game ended. More settlements are cool, but aggressively building to the max is a rookie mistake 😄 The constant Insurrections the set inflicts on you really change the tenor of the game - definitely fun for a change of pace. #bgg #boardgamegeek #catan #rivalsofcatan #settlersofcatan
