we understand if this comes to a shock to some and sincerely apologize if it appears that we have blindsided you. however, upon a thought-out and lengthy conversation between the admins, this feels like the best decision for all parties. in short, our schedules no longer allow for the roleplay. as adults with full-time jobs, we realized that it has become a bit overwhelming to properly run this group like the members deserve. it didn’t seem fair to us to put too much responsibility on one admin or the other, and it especially did not seem fair for us to not adhere to the rules that we ask for you to follow. please know that this is not the fault of anyone. we are closing amicably and encourage you to take the characters that you have grown here and continue to develop them as you see fit. we apologize if any of you feel disappointed but we hope you had the best time and that this is an amicable ending. thank you for six amazing months and we hope to remain in contact with you all. if anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

--- as admins who have come from very stressful roleplay environments ourselves, it was important to us from the very beginning that riverbank hq was a place people could develop their characters and further plots in a very friendly and calm place. we never wanted activity to be a massive deal and so we’ve always been quite lax and understanding because we, of course, understand that life is busy. 

that being said: over the past few weeks, we have noticed there seems to be a pattern developing where some members have been consistently on activity checks and only posting once to get off before disappearing for another four days. again, we would like to reiterate that needing time for yourself and real life has always been the priority and completely fine with us. we’re more than happy to give you a hiatus if you come to us. but this kind of activity isn’t making riverbank fun for anyone, and we doubt it’s fun for you either. it’s very difficult for members to further threads and build plots with members who aren’t on the dash. we want you to have fun and to get involved with everyone and everything we have to offer, as much as you can !!

and so, both admins have discussed this issue and decided that a new rule will be put into place starting from today. if your account ( this only covers your account, you cannot alternate between multiple characters for activity ) is consistently on activity more than twice, you will receive a final warning. if you fail to meet activity for the next check then there will be no 24 hour warning and you will be removed from the group. 

we want to see your characters developing on the dash, whether that be by threads, tasks, or self paras !! and if you know you aren’t going to be on for a while then come to us, we’d much prefer you ask for a hiatus and be upfront with us before you end up on activity. this is by no means meant to target anyone, we just want to make sure that riverbank is as fun, active and inclusive as possible.

hello, angels ! just a friendly reminder that if there are any issues that you may have with the admins, please just address us via ims. they’re always open and we can’t fully address the problem if things are sent on anon. also wanted to say that RIVERBANK IS HERE TO STAY. admin l and i have poured our hearts into this group and intend to keep it open even if there’s just one another member lingering around. we have always advertised this as a chill and independent place. it’s quite clear to see with our lax approach on activity and the sorts. the only thing we ask in return is for you to have fun and develop your characters as you see fit. if you need to be watched every second -- this may not be the place for you. the admins are as available and expendable as we can be while remaining sane.

please do not misconstrue our busy schedules for a lack of interest. we love this place ; it’s our little home. but if there is constructive criticism to be presented to us, we’d prefer to have a name behind it. if you have any questions, you know where to find us.

— first of all we’re so glad to see people enjoying the event and being so creative with your characters !! we hope you have the best time over the next couple weeks. we as admins have always been about fostering an inclusive and relaxed environment for people to develop their characters and have fun. so whilst we’ve always been lenient with activity and accommodating to anyone who needs a hiatus, we’d just like to request that if you DO need a hiatus that you ask for one before you end up on activity check. and not as a way to get yourself off it. we hope you can all understand that this is so we have dedicated members who can commit to the roles and plots they have here and by no means a callout. we just want you all to have fun and also help make our jobs a little easier !!

--- we are so very excited to see the dash active and characters flourishing. we hope this only continues to grow as time goes on. however, with so many new people, the admins thought it best to issue a friendly reminder -- please read the rules. the rules are not in place to be controlling, but instead to foster a smooth and easy environment for the whole. things such as placeholding activity and ignoring the starter rule is not allowed and if we see it happening on the dash, you may be issued a warning. we want to make sure that everything at riverbank is fair, respectful, and inclusive as admins and we hope you can assist in that goal.
