Just pitching in with a bit of Shallan propaganda before the finals:
I've been rereading her POV chapters in the Stormlight Archive and making notes for a future Essay about her, particularly about her plurality. I can't post the whole essay yet, unfortunately, because I haven't written it yet. However, I'm only halfway through the third out of four books (out of ten planned books in the series), and I have 47 notes so far just for instances of dissociation/repressing memories, not including her "becoming another person" stuff, which is more difficult to quantify because it changes how it's written over time. Which is another interesting thing!
Brandon Sanderson, the author of the Stormlight Archive series, has said that he originally was going for a less Realistic depiction of DID with Shallan, with it being influenced a lot by her magic (which is centered around illusions and transformation, so like, fair). However, as he was writing, he realized that for him, it was just a way to avoid having to try to be accurate, and so he decided to go and actually research it, have systems advising him on things, and overall write a more realistic depiction of systemhood for Shallan, Radiant, and Veil (which shows in the books themselves). It's still not perfect representation, of course, but it's really good that he had this "character development" as an author and is trying his best and being respectful, y'know? Anyway, propaganda over, I really like this tournament and think that Shallan deserves a win, but am looking forward to the results regardless!
This is super cool to hear, glad the author took the time to do research and did his best to portray DID accurately and respectfully :D
