As some of you may know, I’ve been knee deep in podcast production for the last year. I’ve learned the workflow of the most experienced producers in the game, accumulating the best hardware& software and then taking more courses on how to proficiently use them. The application that’s most exciting is a remote recording company called @riverside.fm which is a service that allows you (host/producer) and your participants to be anywhere in the world and get audio that sounds like you were in studio together. They do this through the Chrome Browser on your laptop/desktop computer, recording a local .wav file and uploading back to the host in the cloud. This is the standard way of podcasting online now. The reason why this is so important is when you record a Zoom podcast, it’s recorded as a VoIP file (Voice Over Internet Protocol), which means the audio is recorded over the internet and any interference in the connection shows up as a glitch in your audio. It also records as an mp3 file which has 90% of the data stripped out making it an easy file to upload. They also record 4K video and have a mobile app version with a producer feature where the engineer can properly sound check guests and monitor the session in real time, ensuring the best recording possible, podcasting 101-always record it right the first time! If you do remote podcasts or want to start one, it’s a must that you are familiar with or have a producer who’ll manage your sessions with applications like Riverside.FM. #podcast #riversidefm #podcastengineer https://www.instagram.com/p/CO-4N6WMl06/?igshid=javagnojnrp1
