8 Januari 2025: Er is veel aandacht voor een uitbraak van het humaan metapneumovirus (hMPV) in China. Het virus komt daar nu vaak voor en zorgt daar voor ernstige klachten zoals ontstekingen van de luchtwegen. In Nederland zien we nu geen uitbraak.

18 December 2024: We onderzochten welke ontwikkelingen de meeste invloed hebben op de palliatieve zorg in 2050. Dat zijn de vergrijzing, toenemende personeelstekorten, digitalisering en andere technologische vernieuwing in de zorg, en de groeiende diversiteit in de samenleving.

Op basis daarvan beschreven we drie mogelijke scenario’s waarin óf de gemeenschap, óf het individu, óf de professional centraal staat.

This news in English: The RIVM has investigated which developments will have the greatest impact on palliative care in 2050. These are the ageing population, increasing staff shortages, digitalisation and other technological innovation in healthcare, and the growing diversity in society.

Based on this, the RIVM described three possible scenarios in which either the community, the individual or the professional is central.

17 December 2024: Ruim één op de tien Nederlanders van 18 jaar en ouder beweegt genoeg minuten, maar te weinig verspreid over verschillende momenten in de week. Daardoor voldoet deze groep nog niet aan de Beweegrichtlijnen van de Gezondheidsraad (GR).

Als zij door de dag heen structureel iets vaker actieve keuzes maken, halen ze de richtlijnen wel. Bijvoorbeeld door voor de fiets in plaats van de auto te kiezen of de trap te nemen in plaats van de lift.

This news in English: More than one in ten Dutch people aged 18 and over engage in sufficient minutes of physical activity, but do not sufficiently spread out this throughout the week. As a result, this group does not meet the Physical Activity Guidelines of the Health Council of the Netherlands (Gezondheidsraad).

They would meet the guidelines if they were to make active choices more often during the day and throughout the week. People could, for example, use the bicycle more often instead of taking the car, or regularly take the stairs instead of the elevator.
