I think it’s because L+S and BB are PoC stories (I think) so people feel protective. And also bc people do act as if Frozen is the first Disney film to tackle sibling stories. Frozen’s good and L+S do it better, but people don’t need to rip on Frozen

Exactly. That's what I was trying to get across. Call out the people dismissing those films (Especially the racism attached to it.), but don't bash Frozen to get your point across. All that's doing is putting down another perfectly fine film with something different in it and there are already so few of them. It especially grates at me when people knock on Elsa and how she treated Anna since that whole situation was supposed to be an allegory for Elsa having a mental illness so when people criticize her for it or say she's a bad person it rubs me the wrong way.
