Use your choice of shots to serve your story and guide how the audience feels. Build suspense by holding on a wide shot and then switching to a close up that advances the story. Don’t just shoot coverage and cut around between different angles. As a filmmaker use every tool to serve the story. No sloppy filmmaking and no unnecessary cuts!
