Some Connor and Nines random thoughts/headcanons/ideas

Both are equally weary of each other at first. Connor fears that Nines will randomly start hunting deviants, or will prove superior to him and replace Connor at the DPD. Nines is concerned that because Connor was there first everyone will automatically hate him and he will never get out of Connor’s shadow.

At first Hank thinks this will be a good distraction for Connor, to give him something else to do other than nag and work. That hope quickly vanishes when he suddenly has two androids complaining about his diet

“Do you like fish?” “No.” “Oh...” Pause. “So, what have you called them?”

Sometimes the stilted attempts at bonding are so painful Hank has to physically vacate the room

“Your thirium levels are low.” “No, your thirium levels are low.” “What?” “What?”

Jericho is intrigued but not overly surprised at Nines turning up. The company had tried everything it could to overpower them, why not this?

Amanda is a...touchy subject. Nines did know her and talk to her, but not to the extent of Connor. He deviated far too quickly for her to have any effect.

Nines just kinda floats about for the first few weeks, not completely sure what to do with himself. Connor takes him around the DPD, showing his different roles while silently praying they don’t end up stepping on each others toes.

The first time they really bond is when Hank forces Nines out on a walk with Sumo and Connor. Connor gives Nines Sumo’s leash and Nines, not realising how much Sumo pulls, gets dragged across several flowerbeds. Connor won’t stop laughing, but Nines can’t bring himself to feel annoyed or embarrassed.They both feel much lighter when they get back,

Sumo: Two boys?? More pets?? More cuddles?? Another bed to lay on??

When Cole’s birthday comes around, Connor makes a point of pulling Nines to one side to explain what happened and how Hank’s going to be acting over the next week. They decide to go out for the day/night to give Hank space, but instead Hank suggests a movie night. They don’t say anything when he starts quietly crying halfway through the film.
