Detroit: Become Human Headcanons

What the title says:

-When a person of interest or a suspect runs away from the police, Nine's doesn't run after them like Connor; he just freakin speedwalks after them. Like- imagine you're the criminal and you look behind you to see if anyone is pursueing you and you see this android just- power-walking after you, and somehow he's gaining on you???

-Luther is totally the type of guy to pull a Hagrid, like when someone points a gun at him or Kara or Alice, he reaches out for it and ties it into a pretzel.

-Connor becomes Sumo's new favorite person so whenever Connor enters the flat Sumo runs to him and Hank is kinda jealous.

-Hank treats Connor's "birthday" as the day he first met him (give or take a few days) and it falls on Cole's birthday as well.

-After Connor really becomes a deviant he realizes how much he likes casual clothes. Like his suit and tie is fine, but he rocked that beanie and hoodie he was wearing, so for his birthday (see headcanon above) Hank buys him Detroit Police merch (jackets, t-shirts, hoodies) and Connor's LED goes crazy.

-Whenever Alice comes home from school Kara and Luther make a point to always welcome her home with a smile and a hug.

-When Connor first comes back to the police station, Gavin doesn't know he's a deviant, so he orders Connor to get him a coffee. Connor looks at him, then simply says: "Get your own coffee." smiles politely, and walks away. Hank overhears this and he and Connor high-five as Connor walks back to his desk.

Can you do a panic attack sickfic with Connor and Markus? Connor visits the Android hide out (or their home base, something like that) and him and Markus hang out for the day. However, Connor is really there because he's stressed the hell out (work load) and something at the base triggers a really bad panic attack. Connor's LED turns bright red and he thinks he's going to explode (chest pain, raspy short pants) Markus worries and comforts Connor, coaxing him out of his breakdown. Thank you! UWU

It may be shorter, due to my limited brain space atm, but I promise to do the best I can for you. Thank you for the practice and the trust you place in me with our good bois.

–SOFTWARE INSTABILITY🔼– 

Connor had always thought himself separate from the stresses and complications of normal human living. He was a detective, an analyzer, and an investigator, for the Detroit City Police Department. 

He didn’t struggle. 

He didn’t have panic attacks. 

Yet one diagnostic proved him wrong. 

–STRESS 87% (and climbing)–

The trigger was so small, so insignificant, yet it was enough to send him into a downward spiral. The other androids had mentioned the public unrest. That was it. Connor, CyberLife model RK-800, Serial #313 248 317, broke down because the public opinion was not looking favorable and they happened to mention it. That and dealing with the influx of deviants simply proved too much to handle. His LED quickly went from a flickering yellow, to a pulsing red. 

 His hands shook, and it seemed that there was no place they could rest comfortably. They went from his jacket, to his pockets, to being clasped to each other, but it did nothing to stem the flow of panic through his mind. He put his head in his hands and closed his eyes to stem the flow of tears. 

And he couldn’t breath. Connor gasped for breath, like it was being sucked out of him. It was almost as if someone had kicked him the chest unawares, or shoved in glass leaving the center aching and empty. He closed his eyes and sat near the burning garbage can, and waited. It had to pass. There was no other choice. 

But out of nowhere, two hands grabbed his and pulled them down so that he could see who was in front of him. Two eyes, one green and one blue stared back at him with concern. Markus was no stranger to panic attacks. In his time caring for Carl he had seen two, when he had been so frustrated and upset at his painful existence. And he had learned. 

He leaned forward and put his hands on his shoulders, and Connor’s LED flickered as he processed it. They were warm, and large, and solid, compared to the cold press of the metal box he was sitting on. “Breathe, Connor.” Markus instructed. “You have to breath.” Connor didn’t see the worried look in his friend’s eyes, and by the time his brown eyes met Markus, that look was gone. 

“I..can’t. I can’t.. br-brea–” He forced out, and couldn’t even finish the sentence, his LED flickering again. Markus sat down across from him, their knees touching, getting Connor’s attention. “Yes. You can. Start with trying to breath in. Just one slow, long breath.” Markus instructed, and breathed in time for Connor to mimic. Connor’s brow twisted in anxiety and he clenched his fists. But miracle upon miracle, a long, stuttering breath was sucked in, and quickly released. 

A warm smile lit Markus’ face. “Just like that.” He encouraged and held Connor’s lower arms comfortingly. “Again. Do it again.” Connor shot him a frustrated, yet grateful look and pulled in another breath. He could feel his stress level decreasing, and he continued to focus on his breath for the next few minutes. Now the issue came to the surface, as well as every other stress.

“The public unrest. What am I going to do, Markus? I can’t do my job if the public hates me? And Hank doesn’t want a partner who can’t function. I have to be on the top of the game or the department will send me back to CyberLife. And if they hate me that much, what are they going to do to you?” He gestured, to the rest of Jericho. “To this?” 

Markus shrugged, his large shoulders lifting. “I don’t know. But it’s a day at a time. We don’t know what’s going to happen, and that means we can’t worry about the future. And that means you can’t either.” 

“But-” Connor tried to protest, but one look from Markus stopped him. “No. No buts.” Markus shook his head. “You have to go back and do the best job you can do. For today. That’s it. Don’t worry about what you’re going to do next week, or even tomorrow. Just for today. Focus on today.” Connor huffed out a frustrated sigh, but now that the panic had subsided for the most part, he realized begrudgingly, that Markus was right. All he could do was go back, work with Hank on the cases, and do the best he could. He offered a grateful smile to Markus, and when he was wrapped in a comforting hug, he leaned into it. The tension leaked out of him and when he pulled away, his LED was back to the normal, calm blue. 

He couldn’t change what happened in the future. He could only focus on today. And he was going to do that.
