Lost and Found - Closed Starter w/ @generic-connor‘s Connor-53 ‘Eos’ and Alien!Rachel
Eight years. It had to have been...since the Desolation. In the span of a single battle, a single afternoon, a single unprompted and unprovoked battle for her entire species to be wiped out. During the battle, she’d been separated from her band and from her mate and her ship was not only damaged, but warped to an entirely different section of the galaxy. It took her who knew how long to repair her ship. The navigation, fuel, and communications ports were all damaged.
She thought that if her band has survived, that they would be worried, looking for her. Or that they would’ve thought she was dead.
That was...until she repaired the communications on her ship. And there was a message...from her home planet. From Essek.
And she knew. The Hraar had destroyed her people. She was the only one left. The only survivor. The Essekians didn’t stand a chance against such a militant race, ruthless and unyielding.
So...she was stranded on a planet she knew nothing of...without a home or a family to return to.
She was completely and utterly alone.
She’d spent years repairing her ship and, through studying the planet she’d crash landed on, came to discover its name. Earth. She’d learned its languages, the most common being English. And, though she would never abandon her culture or her people, took a...human name for herself.
So, as a lone vagabond, Rachel traversed across the galaxy, hopping from planet to planet picking up jobs and just trying to find her sense of purpose, again.
And that was when she found him. He looked like one of the human drones she’d seen when she was on Earth, but he was badly damaged and just...discarded behind a large metal waste receptacle. By her assessments, he couldn’t have been here for less than a week. And he was practically hollowed out.
Someone had hurt him and abandoned him here. All alone. And clearly...no one was coming back for him.
So, Rachel took it upon herself, hauling the body and whatever parts she could discern came from him off of the ground and into her packs, her long whip-like tails dragging behind her as she laid his body across her back on top of her elytra concealing her large leathery wings.
And so, she kept him. For the rest of those years, she had someone to talk to as she worked tirelessly on repairing him. Even though he couldn’t talk back, she didn’t feel so alone anymore. And she hoped...that he would feel the same way.
So, in her ship, just drifting away in the nebula, Rachel was once again hard at work repairing the droid she’d found. He was almost complete. She was certain. Oh, how she longed to be able to see him burst to life! To see him alive and free! To see him...be.
She was so close. So close to reviving him. She’d spent years working on him. She needed this to work. She needed this to work so badly.
