♦ JUNE 2020 EVALUATION ● COLLAB SONG
— performing yesterday with: @rksxngyeol (rkserim taking on hoya’s parts)
for the first ever evaluation of serim’s trainee career, it wasn’t terribly awful but not like he could admit it was great either. it made him think and even realize that maybe he was just a little in over his head. he’s always been the type to do things on such a whim but things usually ended well for him. on the other hand, lately, serim’s been thinking that he can’t do things as willy-nilly as he used to.
being just a pretty face is everything that serim’s okay with while he’s training at royal anyways. it’s not like he truly wants to be an idol for that matter. singing nor dancing weren’t on his list of priorities either. at the very least, he figures that he could learn it and increase his own skills just to add it to his repertoire. everything he does, he does for himself anyways.
still, he’s not awful to sabotage his fellow trainees in his eval group. he’s told sungyeol how much of a blank canvas he was anyways. if anything, that made it a bit better, didn’t it? he was able to be molded into an idol if anything. although, seirm absolutely can’t stand conforming to things, he does what he has to to complete this month’s evaluation and end on a good note.
the song isn’t bad by any means. in fact, it’s surprisingly pretty good and he’s even added it into his playlist. the dance is manageable for what it is. although, serim has to put in twice the effort just to be able to remember all the steps and sing at the same time when it’s his part. he knows he’s shitted on idols before but he supposes he’ll give them kudos for being able to multi-task like that. singing and dancing at the same time was not an easy feat by any means whatsoever.
the day of the evaluation finally rolled around and gosh, serim just wanted this over with. if this was how all evaluations were going to be, then he needed a serious wake up call and reality check if this was something he’d really be able to do continuously month after month.
for what it is, though, he’s thankful to sungyeol for putting up with his whiny, bratty self. he knows he complained a lot but he did try to not look like a flailing walrus for their performance.
그리운 날 지나버린 Yesterday 내게서 멀어지는 너 이젠 너와 나와의 기억은 모두 Yesterday 오 Yesterday
with that being said, his singing was definitely not the worst thing out there. very raw and unrefined but with the right kind of training, he could be a lead vocal or something. (maybe in his dreams).
기억들이 나를 떠나간다 온 종일 서서 너만 기다린다 너만 오면 돼 전부 다 버릴게 대체 넌 어디있어
maybe his skills won’t get him far but his charismatic charm should hold its own anyways. as they say, fake it until you make it. if he sings confidently enough, then the technicality of it didn’t quite matter. volume, confidence are sometimes key in this moment.
