rkharuto:
it was nice to actually get to relax for a little bit and it was nice of companies to actually put this party together for them. though haruto still couldn’t help but feel a little suspicious about things. surely they couldn’t just get this nice thing without some kind of catch, right? no doubt at any moment they were going to pull some kind of trick or make some sort of announcement that there was something else going on. and, with that thought on his mind, haruto was finding it awfully hard to relax in the slightest.
he had managed to find somewhere to sit and didn’t have much of an interest in moving or actually joining in with any of the fun. he just wasn’t in the mood for it at the moment and would rather just sit quietly by himself and watch from a distance. and he doubted very much that anyone was actually going to miss him if he wasn’t right in the middle of the party. sticking in the background was always something he was best at, anyway.
the japanese teenager hadn’t even noticed the approach of daehwi, not until the slightly older boy was squeezing his wet hair out right over the top of him. “hey!” he instantly snapped, lightly kicking at the other sixteen year old, “i was planning on staying dry.”
Obviously expecting some kind of retort to his misbehaviour, Daehwi quickly retreated out of Haruto’s range, and surely enough a kick came not a moment later that might have hit his shin otherwise. The younger’s angry remarks just made him cackle with amusement even further.
“Too bad!” Daehwi said, not really feeling any remorse at all. “Now you’re wet so now you have to come play with me!” it was an absolutely illogical statement completely disregarding what Haruto himself might actually want to do but thus was the way often when it came to Lee Daehwi and his whims. Why had he done it? Partly because it seemed fun. Partly because he was bored. Everyone else seemed to mind their own business and he couldn’t really walk up to a sunbae and pull off the same stunt. Even he had that much sense. Probably.
Stepping closer again he held out a hand for Haruto to take to help him get out of the chair. “Come ooooooon~” he hummed. “It’ll be fun! The water is really nice! Only old people sit around and watch when you can go have fun instead. Are you secretly an ahjussi?”
Hey brother
rkxdowoon:
It probably wasn’t a good thing to admit, but having this kind of control over his little brother like this gave Dowoon a thrill. Maybe because it was because for so long it was the only form of power he had over Daehwi. And he had no doubt that he’d quite possibly soon lose this advantage at some stage in the near future, so it was only prudent to take advantage of it while he still could, right?
Beside, Jiyoo thought it was funny, which gave Dowoon all the more reason to pick on their brother.
Even with Daehwi’s wriggling and attempts to smack him, Dowoon was able to mount a highly concentrated attack on his brother, a grin on his face at his brother’s helpless (and probably infuriated) laughter. It was only when Daehwi started to cough and whimper, along with a seriously scary death glare from their mother, did Dowoon finally relent and scoot off his brother and back onto the floor, an evil grin still on his face and raising an eyebrow at the younger’s words.
“Takes a devil to know a devil.” he promptly shot back, speaking from experience, after all. He still remembered the wrapping paper prank and it still brought a twitch to his eyebrow whenever he thought about it. Dowoon let out a bark of laughter as Daehwi decided to use their sister as a human shield. Really, did he think Dowoon wouldn’t be able to simply scoop her up and then continue where he left off? The naivety! Luckily for Daehwi, Dowoon was cowed enough by their mother’s continued stares to instead focus on packing up the WiiU before another battle could break out.
After packing away the console, Dowoon retreated to the kitchen for a few moments, returning with a slight pout on his face. The peace offering he’d been looking for was no longer in the freezer and he had a sneaking feeling as to who had stolen it, and for once it wasn’t his brother who was prime suspect. Instead he holds up his keys and motions towards the front door.
“I’m gonna go to 7-11, there’s no ice cream and I want some.” He asks, blunt as ever, but with a smile on his face. “You wanna come with? I’ll get you whatever you want, as a peace offering.”
{ tw: weight talk }
Pouting fully at his brother’s retort, Daehwi simply stuck his nose in the air and ‘hmph’-ed in response. It wouldn’t do to argue with him anyways. Dowoon was wired to always be able to turn his words around and throw it back at him. Briefly, Daehwi considered if it was an older brother thing and that he too would soon gain this power. But even then, who would he be able to use it on? Certainly no-one in Nova. Even if he tried it, instead of being considering endearing cute for it, he’d simply be scolded for being cheeky.
Daehwi pouted even more. Life was so unfair!
Letting out a dramatic sigh that was loud enough to be heard in the kitchen, Daehwi leaned against the sofa and took Jiyoo’s hands in his own, waving them around gently.
“Dowoonie hyung is a devil. I don’t care what he says.” he commented firmly to his little sister, only to get a raspberry blown at him in return. What?! Had Dowoon managed to corrupt Jiyoo too?! Was there no end to his brother’s tyranny? “Jiyoo-yah!” he whined, gently bopped her nose again. “You don’t understand! But you will when you’re older, I’m telling you!” he warned her in mock seriousness.
Not that he truly believed his brother was a devil. Someone who got excited over animated idols, new drumsticks and the opportunity to sleep late was not the type of person to be a devil, such was the simple logic of Lee Daehwi. Though what exactly he’d categorize Dowoon as, he wasn’t sure.
The sudden reappearance of Dowoon in the living room, along with his proposal made Daehwi scrunch up in nose a little. Ice-cream? Really. When they were both supposed to be watching what they ate, especially Daehwi? He had to keep his weight strictly in check after all! How else could he succeed at becoming a model? And did his brother honestly think his forgiveness was that easily bought?
(It was.)
But the idea was tempting.... Surely a small ice-cream wouldn’t hurt, right? He could just work it off during dance class and like the like tomorrow. Besides, Dowoon had said anything. He could use that to his advantage.
“Alright, hyung. But don’t you go back on that promise! ” Getting to his feet, Daehwi carefully deposited their sister by her toys and walked over to the shoe rack, rummaging around for his shoes. “Because if you do, I’ll sell your hat collection for real this time!”

Wendy simply makes a face at the kid who suddenly realizes that Wanda was from Fairly Odd Parents and not the one standing in front of him. “Yeah, and I sadly don’t have a magic wand or pink hair,” she says with a straight face. However, she is aware that the amusement is evident in her voice. “You’re lucky it’s just the two of us, otherwise, I would have been expected to discipline you.” She still wonders what the hell she did wrong for this kid to actually be so mad at her. She doesn’t recall being rude to anyone. Wendy had always made it a point to be on her best behavior in public.
“Yeah, I held the voice lessons last May…” She nods along. Did she somehow forget to give him an autograph? Did her singing advice not work for him? There are so many things that could have gone wrong. She almost prepares an apology and wonders how to make up for it until she finally hears what she did wrong. She had a feeling that someone who took her classes would have been upset to miss Luxe’s surprise lesson. True enough, this kid was living proof.
At least it’s nothing too bad, so she lets out another bark of laughter. “Was that it?” She gasps for breath in between bouts of laughter. “Here I was thinking that I taught you something wrong or I got you in trouble with someone.” She shakes her head. This is an easy fix. She supposes that’s another thing to add to the message she’ll be sending Seolhyun later on. “I didn’t know Luxe was in the building until I saw the fans gathered after class was dismissed,” she admits. “Kid, if I had known, I would have wanted to see Luxe too. I would have liked to see Seolhyun unni and Nayoung unni.” She sighs. If this kid stans Seolhyun or Nayoung, then he’s in luck. “Who’s your favorite Luxe member?
Tilting his head in confusion Daehwi couldn’t quite comprehend why this was an issue. “Why would you have to discipline me?” he asked, obviously not understanding his situation. He hadn’t really done anything wrong had he? Was he rude? Was that it? He was simply pointing out the injustice he had been subjected to, and there shouldn’t be anything wrong with that, should there? “I didn’t do anything wrong.” No, no matter how hard he thought about it, he couldn’t figure it out.
Arms still crossed he listened to Wendy’s words of defense and scoffed at her indifference. “Was that it you say?! You wouldn’t understand how hard it is to be a fan and miss out on such a big opportunity! I can’t go to fansigns because we don’t have the money so my parents won’t buy the albums it takes and like... I wouldn’t have the time to do it anymore anyway...” That was one of the things he didn’t like about being a trainee. There was little time for anyone else. It wasn’t a lie when some people said that it was pretty much selling your soul to the devil. Yet again he was feeling sad about having been picked up by Nova and not Royal though, for who knew? if it had been Royal the person he might be standing and talking to right now might have been Ella instead of Wendy.
If this lady was telling the truth though, it meant that Daehwi was probably being too harsh on her. “Sorry, I didn’t know you were also an olympia.” Shuffling awkwardly on his feet he wondered if he should point out that now she was being the rude one for calling them ‘unni’ when Luxe debuted before she did. At least he was pretty certain they did. “I mean, I really like all of them so it’s hard to say but it’s gotta be Ella sunbaenim! Her dancing is amazing and really inspires me! Don’t tell me you bias her too?”
rktaeyang:
The comment caught Taeyang a little off guard but before he can question it, Daehwi has already shifted the subject—in the end, this is mayhap something that he has absolutely no business asking about. With a somewhat bothered expression, though, he wonders what might have made the younger say something like that… did he even hear it right? Honestly, he isn’t sure, as the other was muttering underneath his breath. He brushes it away for now, smiling when his claim is confirmed.
“Meanwhile, I… I don’t listen to KPOP very much,” which can sound a little weird coming from a trainee. Taeyang can’t help the laugh that emerges as result of his confession, although, he does enjoy the music from Unit Black quite a lot. Nodding, he agrees that Daehwi has surely heard it in the radio somewhere but then, he shakes his head dismissively. “No, no—don’t worry! It’s a good some so I don’t mind… playing it in reverse, though? I don’t think that has been done.” He laughs, again.
“You don’t?!” Daehwi burst out, obviously surprised to hear the news of Taeyang’s music preferences. No kpop was like no life in his mind. Sure he also liked foreign music, but a life of not listening to girl groups was a life without joy if you were to ask Daehwi. “Sunbae...” he said, putting a hand on Taeyang’s shoulder. “I feel sorry for you...”
Immediately after he bounced to his bag by the wall to put away his otamatone and take out his phone. “What kinda stuff do you like? Personally I really love Luxe and Tooice, but somehow... that doesn’t seem like it would be your kind of thing. Hmm.” Scrolling through his playlist he tried finding something that would immediately jump into his eyes, but honestly he didn’t know much about Taeyang’s music tastes other than the fact that he was tired of Despacito. “Have you ever heard of this artist?” he asked and put on a song.
rktaeyang:
The answer took him by surprise, to the point of where Taeyang snort in response. With some thought into the matter, he wonder whether the younger is actually true in his words– one can never be too sure these days, what is and what isn’t possible. More likely than not, though, he can say for sure that Daehwi is right. He nods softly, mutteing his answer. “Yeah, I sure hope it isn’t possible to buy organs from Amazon… I’m sure they can be bought online, but– likely not there.” He almost shiver at the mere thought of stumbling across hearts, lungs and other kinds of organs while shopping for something as mundane as earplugs. “Anyway…”
Not necessarily fond of those kind of topics, Taeyang swiftly shift the conversation back to the instrument at hand and the song that was just played. “I don’t know Spanish either, but wasn’t this song all over the place here, too? I have heard it so many times already, at least, but then again, it is a pretty popular song to make choreographies to… most of my previous coworkers did one version, or two, to this one.” Perhaps that’s why he grew tired of it so easily, everyone seemed to give in to the urge to make their own piece, using this song as base.
Taeyang had a point: most people would definitely see it as a good thing that they didn’t have to stumble across stuff like that whilst doing their leisure shopping, but to Daehwi and his family the situation was a little different from the norm. His head fell a bit as he muttered under his breath. “Would be much easier if you could...” But it only lasted a moment before he looked back at the older trainee and a hand went over his mouth in surprise as yet another very good point was made.
“You’re right!” he gasped thinking back. It had been a couple years now so in a way it was surprising that it was still everywhere. “Honestly I don’t listen to a lot of stuff other than kpop but I think I’ve heard it in the radio a lot when I’ve been out!” That might have been why it felt so familiar the ‘first’ time he had stumbled across it and decided to learn how to play it. “Oh man, if everyone have done it then you must be really tired of it! I should have picked a different song! Sorry sunbae!” But done was done and he couldn’t really unplay the song even though that would be very handy. Or could he? “Maybe if I learn how to play it in reverse...”

Wendy quietly hums their latest comeback track. As much as she loathes “High Heels” with a fiery passion, it’s still their song. A song she has to commit to memory. It’s been too long since she ventured into anywhere outside their designated training room. They don’t need her for anything just yet, so she decides to take a bit of a walk.
As she’s lost in her thoughts, she almost runs into a trainee. At least, she assumes he is one, given how young he is and being in the Nova building. She also recognizes him from her recent singing lecture. Before she can even greet him, the way he greets her has her bending her knees in laughter. He’s lucky he caught her in a good mood and there was no one around. Otherwise, Wendy would have been expected to discipline a junior and put him in his place.
“First of all, my name is Wendy, or Gyeoul if you want to use my stage name,” she says, trying to keep the amusement out of her voice. She maintains her straight face though. “Second of all, what did I do wrong that warrants an apology?” She doesn’t remember whether she did this boy wrong in particular. Maybe he’d be kind enough to refresh her memory so she can make the proper amends.
Wait, why was she laughing? What he had said had been a total non-laughing and very serious matter, and thus Daehwi was left in confusion for a second before the woman confirmed that her name was, indeed, not Wanda. “Oh true, Wanda is that fairy...” he muttered to himself thinking of a certain childhood cartoon. That was why the name seemed so familiar but still not right he supposed. But right now there were more important matters at hand, especially since she had the audacity to not even be aware of what she had done!
“Anyway!” he said resolutely and put his hands at his sides in obvious miff. “I can’t believe you don’t even know!” The shock in his face was very evident as he let out a deep sigh at having to explain himself. This was really not going his way, was it? “Last month during the Speak Up classes...” Pause for effect. “You held that singing class.” Stating the obvious out of the way, he could finally get down to business.
“Anyway!” he repeated himself and pointed an accusing finger at her. “You were totally aware that Luxe were going to do a surprise performance and workshop at the same time weren’t you?! You have to have been! You were performing too after all! You could have told us! It’s totally your fault that I didn’t get to see Luxe up close, Wendy sunbaenim! So?! What do you have to say in your defense?!”

It felt a bit suspicious that the companies were actually being kind for a change -- of course they still had to perform, but practically getting a full day of relaxation and fun didn’t seem like something they usually dealt in. Daehwi had only once himself experienced how mischievous the coaches could be when they decided to switch up the tracks for an evaluation, and thus he suspected that something might be up this time too. How genius he was. A true detective in the making!
Of course his suspicions didn’t stop him from having fun though. The water was nice and cool on such a hot day and Daehwi had been spending at least the past half hour swimming around to his best ability (he wasn’t really that good a swimmer but at least he could stay afloat) and starting innocent water fights when he was starting to get bored. That was when another genius thought struck him.
Removing himself from the pool the dripping wet Daehwi walked around to look for a victim when he found one of his evaluation mates, Haruto, casually resting on a pool stool. One step, two steps, and then Daehwi wrung his wet hair right above the other’s resting figure causing the droplets to fall down plentiful before bursting into laughter.

It wasn’t the first time Daehwi had taken notice of this particular girl whilst wandering about the shared practice building of seocho. The only difference from the other times and now was that before he had never really had any reason to approach her, and thus he hadn’t; but this time was different. From the very first time he had laid eyes on her, he knew he had seen her somewhere before: and that much was certain, for his best friend in America had been an avid fan of her. ‘Gamer chicks are so hot’, he had informed Daehwi who still didn’t see a difference between gamer chicks and normal chicks. But he supposed that the mental image of his ex girlfriend getting all excited whilst playing had been a kind of cute view so he could sort of see where the guy was coming from.
Either way, today he needed her help.
“Excuse me!” he had called out to her. “You’re that gamer girl aren’t you? Yuzu sunbaenim?!” Or should he use another name for her under these circumstances? But he couldn’t remember her real name no matter how much he tried to. That much wasn’t important right now though. Clasping his palms together in a praying and begging motion he bowed down before her. “Please sunbaenim I need your help! My dignity is on the line!”
Hey brother
rkxdowoon:
‘Family Time.’ While Dowoon wouldn’t say it was a thing of the past, it certainly was the case that ever since he and Daehwi had signed their contracted, it had become a lot rarer for them to actually have time to hang out with their parents and sister like they used to. Gone were the movie nights, trip to the mall, all the normal stuff families did and that their own household had only been able to resume after Dowoon had undergone his transplant.
It was that lingering sense of guilt that had made Dowoon forgo his weekend plans of binge watching anime and sleeping between schedules to participate in their parent’s hastily arranged ‘family fun night.’ And for the first hour or two everything had being going swimmingly. Dowoon had played ‘here comes the airplane~’ with Jiyoo in between being nagged by their father to eat more. (Much like Daehwi was being nagged beside him by their mother.) Even the cleanup had been fun until he and his brother were banished to the living area.
And then someone decided it was a good idea to break out the Wii U.
Granted, that had been fun too. Especially since Daehwi was so laughably bad at the game; Dowoon was willing to bet that even Jiyoo could have beaten him without much bother. Snickering as his brother ran himself off the Rainbow Road yet again and continued to whine, Dowoon threw him a superior and self important smirk.
“Well, baby bro, it’s because I– HEY!”
Realizing too late that Daehwi had posed the question as a distraction tactic, Dowoon let out a screech of discontent as he struggled to keep hold of the controller, trying his hardest to bat his brother away. Predictably, this led to him running off the Rainbow Road and running his flawless streak so far. His own eyebrow twitching, Dowoon managed to regain enough control to hit the pause button, glowering at a smirking Daehwi.
“Alright! You asked for it!”
Unexpectedly shoving the controller back into Daehwi’s hands, Dowoon took advantaged of the younger’s sudden surprise to tackle him to the ground and withing an instant, he was tickle-wrestling his hapless brother, ignoring the exasperated yells of their parents. (”Aren’t you a bit old for this, Yoon Dowoon?!”)
‘Family time,’ indeed.
His distraction lasting long enough for Daehwi to get his revenge if only slightly -- Dowoon’s flawless streak was broken as the vehicle mercilessly got dragged into the darkest pits of space, a scenery that Daehwi had seen himself only far too many times these past minutes. It suited him right, that was what he got for being so self important, the younger thought, ready to return to his own suffering when the game was paused without notice.
“Hn?” he let out and turned his head sideways. Things happened way too fast then. In a moment the controller was forced into his hands causing him to drop both controllers before Dowoon darted forward, an arm around Daehwi’s body dragging and pinning him to the ground. “Geh--” he coughed, but it was too late: Dowoon was already straddling with his full weight.
And then began the torture.
“Oh my go-- hyung NO hyung stop i-it ahahahaha hyung st-stop ahahahaha HYUNG!” Although he was laughing, Daehwi was not amused at all. This was an involuntary reaction, his brother manipulating him into doing as he did, and Daehwi’s body twisted and squirmed, trying its best to get free from the other’s weight but to no avail. He was rendered completely immobile. His shrieks gaining in strength, Jiyoo walked over to see what caused such a commotion, clapping excitedly at her older brothers playing around. Even his baby sister had forsaken him! How cruel the world was!
For a while Daehwi could do absolutely nothing in his defense, simply laughing until he cried and started coughing as his stomach cramped up. Only then did Dowoon seem to be satisfied with his handiwork. “...a devil...” he muttered under ragged breath. “You’re a devil hyung...” His words were said with a whine as he crawled over to where Jiyoo was and picked her up almost as if using her as a shield. Of course she knew nothing of what was transpired and simply thought it was great fun.
“Jiyoo yah~” he continued to whine and bopped her on the nose. “Dowoonie hyung is a big meanie~...”
Your name
rkyoona:
Yoona was not a fan of any specific genre or style of movies and television shows. She was the kind of person who would watch anything if it interested her. She was well versed in all forms of entertainment and did have her favourites depending. Anime and cartoons were just another genre of entertainment she didn’t mind watching as long as it was enjoyable and interesting.
Her older brother had been very into anime growing up and she would sit with him and her younger brother while he watched his shows. She was always amazed at the level of art and creativity involved in animation. She had thought about pursuing it at one stage but she couldn’t draw. Even today she still watched anime and cartoons and would discuss them with her older brother. It was something she didn’t show to many people. It had been some time, however, since she had last watched something. She simply didn’t have the time with her busy schedule. Yoona was sitting by herself messaging her brother about the latest show he had watched when she was joined by Daehwi. Yoona grinned brightly at her ‘son’ but when he asked her question her expression showed her confusion. She let out a slight laugh.
❝ What? What makes you ask this? ❞
For some reason Yoona acted as though his question had been a weird one, and Daehwi tilted his head in confusion. Was it really that incomprehensible? “What’s it like to be a girl?” he repeated insistently, placing both palms on the table and leaning in closer with an expectant glance in his eyes. Yoona was old, and that automatically meant that she had to be wise as well. That was just how these things went. So of course she would be able to respond to his question.
“My brother watched something the other day that made me think about it and now I can’t let it go again,” Daehwi explained, raising his hands again and looking down at them. Honestly they weren’t very manly and could easily be mistaken as a girl’s hands, but he was still young and figured that sooner or later his body was going to grow in all kinds of weird ways, and he wasn’t entirely sure he was going to like it. “I only know what it’s like to be a guy you know.” That much was obvious, but the teenage boy said it all the same, matter of factly. “But sometimes I can’t help but wonder that maybe it would have been better if I was born a girl instead. Maybe people wouldn’t think it’s creepy that I know that many girl group dances then. Do you think people would find me normal then?” His eyes became even more insistent as he was waiting for an answer to all the confusion he had in his mind right now.

Daehwi had always been and still was the type of boy to speak his mind before he really put thought into his words. Many times this had caused him to unintentionally disrespect people, but some habits were incredibly hard to change, and so he kept putting his foot in his mouth. Calling Sungyeol ‘ahjussi’ had been just one of many mishaps, and it seemed like it was time to make a fool of himself again.
The thing was that he clearly remembered the face of this woman. She had been the lecturer of the very class at the speak up event that had cost him the opportunity to see Luxe up close and personal with their new song. How could he possibly forget her.
Her name, on the other hand, was a different matter. Daehwi clearly remembered his senior male trainee lecturing him on the matter, but what he had actually said escaped him right now. Thus, when he stepped up to her, hands in his sides and face in a pout, the name that escaped his lips was the first and the best one he could think of starting with a W. “Wanda sunbaenim!” The moment he said it, he knew he’d made a mistake. “No wait, that sounds wrong. Anyway!” Shoulders raising in a huff, he clearly let it be seen with his body language how upset he was. “You still owe me an apology!”
Awright fine fellas! New month new eval and this time Daehwi is looking to do AB6IX’s The Answer for what is better for summer than a summer bop? If you want to join us, please comment on this post with the role you want or hmu on twitter!

Although their parents were the ones who had initially given their agreement for both of their sons to sign contracts as trainees, they were also now the ones who thought that they were doing too little together as a family. Vacation plans now cancelled as neither of the two could get time off, it seemed that they were especially affected now that the summer break was less than a month away. So once the boys had got home from their weekend practice, they had entered straight into an emergency family meeting where even Jiyoo seemed to be judging them.
Daehwi was mainly confused at the extra special family dinner that had been prepared and while he did enjoy it, he found his mother’s insistence to eat more kind of annoying. ‘You’re way too skinny!’ she’d say to him, but it wasn’t his fault that he was constantly moving around and had trouble gaining weight.
After dinner came game time, and with game time came Daehwi getting absolutely owned by Dowoon in Mario Karts. Eyebrow twitching as he fell over the edge of the road in Rainbow Road for probably the twentieth time that lap, a sour glance was shot towards the older. “Hey. Hyung. How come you’re so good at this? Maybe it’s the controller?” And with those words, he lunged out to steal his brother’s controller and totally not to sabotage his winning streak.
