Yuzu thumbs her cousin with a flyer on the head as they meet up during her short break from walking around all day to distribute those tiny pamphlets. It really did suck that not all of the family made it into companies but Ryujin was still so young and Yuzu was confident that with time she’d get her chance to shine as well.
“Hey there, chibi dragon. How y’holdin’ up? Want some hot cocoa to cheer up?” Always concerned for the younger girl she attempts herself at a soft smile, meant to cheer the younger up. Yuzu wasn’t certain yet after all how hard the news would hit her younger cousin, especially knowing that both her cousins got into companies now.
its not everyday that hyuna started conversations with most people. she was just in the mood to do something nice, so maybe when she saw that the person in front of her was taking their time with picking the right sum of cash for their drink at the coffee shop, she stepped in.
“i’ll pay for them.” the blonde said, catching the cashiers attention. the boy at the desk looked at her and hyuna shrugged, sliding her credit card over and the cashier took it. her gaze landed on the girl next to her and smiled
“i hope you don’t mind.” she stated, voice bright before turning to look at the cashier again “a large iced coffee, please.” and hyuna doesn’t think much of it. it was just a nice gesture.
truth be told, junho doesn’t have a major reason for taking violin lessons. his parents didn’t exactly force him but he knew they wanted him to do so anyways. besides the fact that they were paying for them, it also meant spending less time around his family and junho was game about that.
it wasn’t so bad either. the other kids who took lessons were decent and mostly kept to themselves much like junho. the only downside were the showcases their teacher made everyone participate in to demonstrate to the families that their investments were worth it and from other potential people looking to hire. that’s the only thing junho hates about it.
“ryujin noona! did you watch my latest vlog?” junho didn’t talk to many of the other students taking lessons aside from just one: ryujin noona as he referred to her mostly. she didn’t annoy him like the others usually did. “i’ve been so busy working on my vlogs and editing videos that i haven’t been practicing violin as much. i think my parents might eat me alive when the showcase comes around, yikes.”
After the makeover her cousin had given her, Yoona knew she probably needed to update her wardrobe. She still had no idea what the current trends were or what was in or out. She often brought things she liked or thought would look good on her. She had never really taken the time to plan an outfit or two, often throwing things on. Jimin had strongly suggested she update her wardrobe and Yoona had promised her cousin she would. Which is why she was currently browsing through tops.
There were so many new styles, colours, and designs that honestly scared her. Everything was getting shorter in length which terrified her. If her father caught her in some of these clothes he would scold her and lock her away for not dressing properly. She had a few items of clothing sitting in a basket that was hanging off her left arm. Suddenly, she spied a top she adored and quickly made her way over to it. Just as she reached for it, so did someone else. ❝ Oh, I’m so sorry, ❞ she quickly apologised. ❝ Please take it. ❞ She smiled.
talking to strangers was something he had never been very good at, but actually trying to talk to them in korean was a whole other nightmare. haruto was already incredibly stressed out by the situation and he hadn’t even been standing here for very long, the stack of flyers in his hand still making his arms ache from the weight of them. he really needed to get rid of these as fast as possible, but that meant actually approaching people he had never met before and striking up a conversation to get their attention. easier said than done.
“miss? hi, yes,” his voice was soft as he approached the next person, his hand shaking so much that he was finding it hard to peel off the top flyer from his pile. he gave an almost anxious smile, trying not to cry in frustration that his hands were betraying him. but he did manage to hold back the waterworks and the teary look as he managed to actually get ahold of just one flyer, anxiously holding it out, “would you like this kt entertainment flyer? it has loads of information... and stuff.” he didn’t really know exactly, he could only understand about half of it.
she knew she looked a little silly but it was worth it. her outfit had paid off and jihyo knew she looked good. there was only the problem of the escape room. the train was long and she felt like there would be some running. which meant she had to do something with her dress while she waited in line. and with nothing left do, she started roll it up and try and figure out a way to tie it.
jihyo moved around while doing that, trying to gather it when she stepped back and bumped into someone. "oh sorry." she turned, dress in hand and bowed her head in apology. "i'm trying to figure out something to do with that."
it’s been quite a while since he’s been able to donate some of his time helping out at the youth center. it’s extremely disheartening to think about how much time has passed since he’s last stepped foot in that place, and, as he steps into the building, he mentally and emotionally prepares himself for the fact that the kids may have already forgotten he exists. what greets him instead is an outpouring of love, many of the kids he’d mentored running up to him as soon as he appears, dressed in their color-coordinated vests for the basketball games about to begin. if he were someone who cried, he might have done so at that point, but because it’s been an unknown number of years since he’d allowed a tear to fall, he’s instead all smiles, filled with warmth and joy.
the last time he’d been to one of the games, he’d been one of the coaches, trying his best to teach a sport he’d only played casually at night with some of his friends from uni. this time, though, he’s there as support, to fill in any gaps left by volunteers who have fallen sick or otherwise could not make it to the night’s games. while there are a couple of new faces he has to introduce himself to, the majority of the people there are those he’s already familiar with, at the very least by name, and it makes everything feel like he’d never taken that hiatus due to training.
sent to one side of the gymnasium by one of the coordinators, he settles by one of the court sides next to one of the other volunteers, waving happily as he approaches. he and ryujin had chatted a few times in the past, but never really had any extensive chats or gotten to know each other that well, but he figures they’re close enough that he doesn’t have to reintroduce himself. “long time on see!” he says instead with a grin once he’s within talking range. he throws in a joke for good measure, even if it had probably only been a couple of years since they’d seen each other. “you look exactly the same, haven’t aged a day!”
One thing that Changyoon took pride in was his younger sister and how much he spoilt her. Special occassions were always his chance to spoil her even more and he had been planning her birthday presents for a long time.
He had a whole event planned for the day but first would be her presents. He had organised with his cousin to have Yena’s gifts placed in the living room in piles. There were three boxes all placed neatly on the table.
The first box was large and contained three items. A cup, a shirt and a bag.
The second two boxes were stacked atop each other. One contained a large Line Friends plush that reminded Yoon of his sister. The smaller box contained her favourite cake.
Sitting in front of all the boxes was a card.
Written inside was a message:
Yennie,
My beautiful little sister. You’re getting older and older and every year we become closer. I know oppa hasn’t always been there for you, especially when we were younger. It’s something I will always regret. I’ve always loved you and you’ve always been my favourite person, even if I didn’t always show it. You’re my beautiful sister and you’re always there for me. You put up with me and you let me take care of you now. Thank you for telling me about our parents and what you went through. You trusted me with that and for that I will always be grateful. No matter what happens, know that oppa will always be there for you and will always love you.
Oppa xx
She expects more gifts upon returning home, yes but not to the extend the only two family members, whom she actually cared about, did. The message especially makes her smile before she moves to hug all the presents to her chest, humming out a happy hum.
Minju from the side seems to be lowkey judging her but she doesn’t care. Only when her mug almost tumbles to the ground and her cake ends up partly on her cheek does she let go with a squeal, a wide smile on her lips while her best friend laughs and turns to leave for her own room.
It hits her then that the jet lag is hitting her hard so she sees herself faced with two options: stream or pass out. Being the mature adult she was she would of course decide to stream!
First she sent her thanks to Changyoon and Ryujin though. She’d honestly be lost without the two of them.
